I actually figured this would be the case, well not commercials helping ticket sales, but the UFC/Zuffa affiliation with SF. Think we'll see viewship or possibly Showtime suscription increases over time.

Great news for Zuffa and the bottom line for the fighters, though I still have misgivings about the merger. I think it will come down to guys not having access to better pay through competition, like they did before.

Kristie had to change her panties before she went out, she def had dreams about Bones bone that night.

But I wonder if Showtime is more flexible in their negotiations now, they have to know UFC on Showtime = Huge subscriptions surge.

Everyone will be flexable now. I can't believe all the media and fan assumptions about the future of this deal in a few years based on pre-merger Dana rhetoric.

See I don't understand how the affiliation alone helps viewership. Will people only now watch SF because Zuffa bought it? That sounds real cornballish.

It's the commercials on a UFC dominanted station that opens SF up to the casual fan who never watched MMA aside from UFC on spike(which is how these guys know about the UFC ppv's).

Trust me, it matters, and it's just Strikeforce being mentioned, let alone commercials during UFC shows, it still falls under added exposure by affiliation. It's everything that follows with the Zuffa/UFC name floating freely around Strkeforce now.

I was on the SF website the other day, and wandered into their forum which I've never seen before, wanted to read old threads reacting to the UFC buyout by diehard SF fans, there was my boy Capt. thought it was funny but cool too, man some Zoofa haters on that site huh.

Yeah I've gotten some good info out of that forum. but on the other hand those dudes are haters of the highest degree. ridiculously so. I've been called a "zoofa zombie" (which shows u how corny these guys r) on numerous occasions. Hard to have real discussions over there.

And maybe your right, I guess if there are guys like that, who hate the UFC to no end, then on the other end of the spectrum are the equally corny UFC huggers who now see SF as a legit org only because Zuffa bought it.

Gay stuff imo.

LOL I was just looking at the forum. I've posted there a few times. Yea LA the reaction to the buyout is a bit ridiculous. Overall it has been everywhere. I know it will not be good for the Dan Henderson's of the game who can force high bids but other than fighter pay, what else is so bad about this? The worlds leading MMA promotion just merged with the only other extant MMA org that has done anything insofar as growing the sport. Strikeforce lead the way to premium television where the UFC couldn't and focused on bringing women athletes to the public eye.

exactly. u wouldn't be able to take it for long. The current mod's over there are maddening.

it's actually not as bad now, alot of dudes bailed when Zuffa bought it. Though that has also left the discussions pretty limited.

Dan makes more gaurenteed money per fight now, but he was making bank in the UFC with bonuses Wolf, pocketed 340K at 100, I forget the others I looked up but they were 200K and like 250K with a bonus.

Capt., yeah saw a slower board in general then I would have thought.

Funny, yeah I'm sure there are some good posters over there, but reading posts, then like 2-3 of yours, you were one of the best posters there. Also was reading some posts in articles on Junkie today, and some guys are half retarded, shows we have some quality here in ours little MMA group.
