| Must say...giving up a 2 run lead all with two outs in the championship innings is very un-ace...i don't care who the offense is..pitching has always proven to beat hitting in the playoffs..except for tonight. | |

| Well, isnt it?
Not saying Verlander is not an ace but he completely let the Tigers down there...2 run lead. 2 outs, nobody in in the 7th inning should be game with Verlander on the mound...but noooo.

Yeah it sucks that Gardner was the 9th man in the order if Verlander was pitching in the National league he would have faced a pitcher there

| There is nothing funny about a manager actually having to use his brain in late game situations in the NL...he would have likely faced a pinch hitter in that spot. You either can get it done in the postseason or you can't. Lest we forget Verlander's dominating 2006 World Series performance...against an NL offense that GASP does not have the bail out DH. | |

| NL ball inspires managers to earn their money...and guess what, it teaches teams how to play small ball when the long ball is not working.
What happens when AL teams suffer a power outage? The Giants pitching shut down the Rangers power bats last year and they didnt know how to manufacture runs playing small ball. The Rangers were so dependent on their DH that when they had to play in the Giants ball park, they had to play Guerrero in the hardest RF in the majors and his presence out there cost them atleast a couple runs.
Also, the DH allows headhunting pitchers to never have to pay for their bush league shit.
The DH is bad for the game and it hurts AL teams more than it helps them come world series time when they actually have to play baseball. The AL is like the arena football section of the majors...all bats, few great pitchers. When Halladay and Lee went to the NL..the aces in the AL are few and far between.

| Alright Kings I know u know baseball so if u are the manager and the score stays the same do u send Verlander back out there? he is at like 120 pitches but Beniot pitched 2 innings yesterday and Valverde threw about 30 pitches and had all kinds of trouble. U make the call? | |

| It's not going away anytime soon...it's just a matter of time before it makes it's way to the National League..especially since overall MLB offensive numbers are going down since the end of the roid era. | |

| You bring in Valverde..you might need Verlander to pitch on short rest in a game 5..though with 120 pitches..that would be a shock.
Valverde has not blown a save all year...you can't be scared he'll choke now..which he very well may.
