| Sources: Nets after Deron Williams http://sports.espn.go.com/new-york/nba/news/story?id=6150419The Nets and Jazz, sources said, are closing in on a multi-team trade that would send Williams to New Jersey, with the Nets' Derrick Favors and Devin Harris going to Utah. The deal, if completed, would also include the Golden State Warriors and involve Utah receiving draft picks from the Nets. Jazz will also get two first-round draft picks from the Nets, according to multiple media reports.

| I guess they will try to build around D-Will and Lopez? Not sure who they can bring in to help. | |

Yeah but is D-Will really better in the long run the Harris and Favors(3rd overall pick)?

| I'm sure Harris is happy to beat out of NJ, I know Williams is happy to be out of Utah after taking heat for the coach leaving. Mavs still want Harris back, maybe Harris gets traded again? | |

| Deron Williams is better than Carmelo Anthony. Excellent trade for the Nets. | |

Yep, Utah gets Harris, Favors and 2 first round picks. Not too bad for a player they thought would leave after next season.

| They get the Nets 1st rd pick this year unrestricted and Golden State's 2012 pick(top 7 protected). The Nets could get the 1st pick which would go to Utah. | |

| reports are that D-Will is not happy with this trade. Will he be a Knick after next season? A Laker? They better impress im because he can leave after next season. | |

| Net fan here, so my take is this.
Harris is not that good. Can score Ok, but inconsistent, and surely not a true PG.
Favors. He's still raw, we knew that coming in, so it's hard to say where he levels out. A good kid, good(not great) athlete, very good size, but maybe lacked fire. I tend to think that has to do with him being a shy kid, and the youngest player in the NBA, making him a bit timid. I liked him, but Im not seeing superstar.
Draft picks. Nets, will prob win some games from here on out, so their pick prob won't be a super high pick. GS pick will also be good, but not a great(had not heard it was protected) pick. Word is this years draft is lacking, and Nets still have a #1(lakers pick) this year, and 2 picks next year(ours and Houstons) so we had picks to move.
D Williams is a no doubt top 3 pg in the league, arguably the best. He will make others better(Harris did not) and he's a better scorer then Harris to boot.
Williams is a legit superstar, and this is a superstar league, in all likelihood none of the parts going the other way will be anywhere near his level.
Further, since the russian took over the Nets, they have been trying to get a superstar, but have been rebuffed on all occasions. But to the joy of us net fans he is persistent, and he finally nabbed his guy.
Getting Williams, now offers a lure for other FA's, especially in today's post 2010 FA season NBA. And with the Nets looking to open a new arena in Brooklyn in 2013, they need attractions.
Of coarse they NEED to re-up Williams, if he walks after next season, that sets this team back immensely, and this trade is then a complete failue. But I'll give the Russian props for being ballsy. Dude has plenty o'money, and if they could not lure a FA to NJ, perhaps they have better luck locking down a FA already with the team. Especially if they are able to build around him. A big time SF would fit nicely.
