| Don't even care about Shad being out, nasty matchup, Bones is gonna be Champ
IMO, winner of this fight goes down as the best LHW ever, Gun for what he's done and keep's doing, Bones for what he will become.

| I've been on the Jones bandwagon. No way I jump off now. He beats Shogun. | |

| I thought they should've made Rua vs Rampage and Jones vs Thiago Silva. | |

| It was a bold statement, but Rua already has a say for best LHW ever, beating Bones would only cement it. Bones beating Shogun, aside from an amazing win and becoming Champ, would just showcase how good he already is and that while being far from his peak. Bones has freakish athleticism and natural strength, size, fights intelligently and savy, dude has the goods to become the best ever. And it's really just because as good as he is now, he has a lot to learn still, his standup still needs some work, just imagine when his stiking is on par with his wrestling. | |

| On picking him over Gun, yes Shogun is an excellent fighter and has all the tools to beat Bones, but he's had trouble with wrestlers before, is coming off an injry, and is givngp some size here.
Page is already fighting Thiago and that fight makes complete sense, Dana said Page could get a shot with a win.
If not, Page fights Forrest if he beats Thiago, callin it.

yeah, I thought the same prior to Bader, I didn't like the idea of such a young kid in a fight where his head could get knocked off. I tend to think things like that can hurt guys careers. Because of that I thought he should avoid the top guys until he matures a bit more. But he is not being challenged in the least right now, and Im beginning to see fights vs Evans, Page, Machida, as not overly dangerous for him. So while he could get an intermediate fight against a top guy in the name of further seasoning, I do not see it as important as I did a couple fights ago. Again, I think he'll beat Rua.

| I will be rooting for Jones (American) over Shogun (Brazilian), but I like Shogun and am more worried about his constant knee problems than anything else. If we get Shogun and Jones at 100%, it might be the greatest fight in UFC history. | |

I just think calling Rua the best LHW ever is too bold of a statement and beating a guy who will be getting his first title shot does not cement it for me. You could argue the division to be the best in history which to me means he his the best UFC fighter ever, or at least close. Bones is a great fighter, but one fight does not determine his legacy.

| I love Bones but we have to be very careful not to live in the moment. Shogun is a top 2 or 3 LHW of all time and its almost scary how many people are picking him to lose to a kid that is 23. Shogun will definitely be prepared and although I really dont know who will win Im positive Shogun wont look like Bader last night. | |

| Bones is bad ass and will be champion one day...I just think Rua is something different for him and will hurt him bad. I hope I am wrong however...As having two American's as Champions in the hardest of 2 divisions is awesome! So go Jon go! | |

| As amazing as Machida's run was, don't forget how many people thought he'd be champ for many years. One fight at a time. | |

| I would say Jones has been fighting this whole time and Rua obviously has not, with that being said people thought Machida was elusive and would be hard for Rua to hit and he proved twice that he could do just that, Bones is a different kinda fighter, very powerful and long, if Rua can test his chin early that will answer the questions I have | |

You could argue the division to be the best in history which to me means he his the best UFC fighter ever, or at least close. Bones is a great fighter, but one fight does not determine his legacy. Calling Shogun best ever now isn't really bold at all, there's already some who believe he is, and even more so if considering rankings based on the classic "Who beats who" analysis. He's right in the discussion with Chuck and Wandy as of now, but beating not just another top ranked fighter, but a fighter many consider a future star like Bones would just be another feather in the cap of a fighter with an already great resume. At the same time Bones beating Shogun, before he's even close to his prime, what is he 23? Would showcase his ridiculous talent far from his peak, it'd all be about what he will become. Bones has all the goods to become best ever, even with questions still to be answered, how's his chin, how does he react to adversity ect. His athleticism and natural strength are incredible, he's huge for that division, fights smart, has ridiculous wrestling (Was controlling Bader like it was nothing), all this with so much still to learn.
