The Super Heavies.....

Yes, the face of the super heavyweight movement was beaten into a bloody breakdancing turtle by a heavy who fits the more traditional MMA heavyweight profile, however there seems to be monthly new entries to the not yet division.

As it now stand I see the following as top guys in the theoretical super heavy division.

Reem
Brock
Carwin
Big Foot
Konrad
Rogers
Grove

A pretty decent list, with almost all these guys new to the scene.

Reem is too small for super HW unless he fought under the bottom of HW or gained excess weight.

Add Tim Sylvia and RON SPARKS.

its a dumb idea in my opinion

last 3 HW Champs in UFC have been Cain, Brock and Randy, add in Fedor and Werdum not being massive mamoths. No reason for super heavy

Overeem is crazy that he he fits the profile of a super LHW and a super HW

I like the idea of a SHW division, though they lack the athleticism of the smaller fighters and you couldn't truly fill a division.

NO!! the HW division would be left for dead!!! It's tough enough making fights as it is

Im not saying they should set up a super division yet(or reconfigure the current heavy division so as to raise both the ceiling and floor), but the amount of guys in and around the 265 lb limit is growing pretty rapidly. I expect it to continue to do so as more and more athletes join the fray.

SHW for king of the cage please.

In about 10 years we will have more big guys and SHW may be an option. Let Struve gain 50lbs at 6'11" and he may kill people. That would be a fun guy to watch fight at 310lbs against HMC or Timmeh.

Well it did Kimbo no good picking up and slamming a guy who could be a super hw. So a guy like Kimbo is def someone who would benefit from a weight class restructuring.
