Can Werdum get Overeem down?

I guess Werdum is pretty confident he'll just take Overeem down and submit him. Initially I thought there was no way he can accomplish that because Overeem is too big and strong now, but the more I think about the more I could see it happening. Another question is once he gets Overeem there, will he be able to pull off the sub? Overeem's ground game isn't shabby but obviously it's not Werdum's. Would he be good enough to defend the sub and get back to his feet?

I think he will have trouble getting Overeem down but when Overeem takes him down Werdums guard is great and he definitely can get a sub from his back. So to answer your question no he wont be able to get Overeem down in my opinion, but while Overeem is on top he can get a sub from his back.

Werdum didn't need to take down fedor. He got jacked, went to his guard and submitted him. I see overeem jacking werdum and being careful when going in for the kill. Short fight in my opinion

I think you maybe right.

This would be the smart move. Werdum's stand-up would have nothing for Overeem.

Thats a great idea but I think if he gets him down he goes after him for the finish.

i don't think he can, if he tries he'll eat knees for breakfast, lunch and dinner!!!

I think it would have to be a balance thing like in the first seconds of Duffee fight. It will be tough for him to be close long enough with out eating some knees.

Werdum definitely offers Overeem almost nothing on the feet, so if he does get dropped it would be wise of the Reem to make him get up until the ref stops it or until Werdum is down and out. Following him to the ground even if he's rocked is a bad idea all around.
