A loss in which he lost the title after having one of the most successful heavyweight title runs in UFC history. Plus he's a big draw and a big name opponent for JDS. Because the division has been notoriously weak, does not mean that 2 title defenses is impressive. And he got his ass kicked in his last go.

And looking at the landscape in the division right now
This isn't SF, you don't give guys coming off losses Title shots when there actually is better opponents. Total double standard. And given that the UFC didn't get into the MMA business a couple years ago, and claims itself the holy grail of MMA, one would think they would set a higher bar then SF.

Weak? what does it have 6 top 10 guys? He lost his Title after a good run, there is no other outright top contenders at the moment, therefore this fight wouldn't be bad in the least.

Not a double standard at all, SF had multiple other options, the UFC does, but Cain hurt, Carwin hurt, Nelson limbo. That leaves JDS vs Brock or Mir for an interim Title Those are 5 top 10 HWs, with only 2 options for a matchup becasue of injuries.

| Not sure if Brock would want this fight. Does he want to be in there with someone that has good stand-up like JDS?

| How about Brock vs. JDS or Brock vs. Mir or JDS vs. Mir without an interim belt? | |

| 4 fighter tourney to decide an interim belt holder. This would be sweet.
Come on UFC, stand your ground as the pinnacle of the MMA universe. do not force feed yet another undeserved titlle fight to a former(?) WWE fighter just for the sake of ratings.

well at least then he would have earned it. Just giving a guy with 5 career wins a title fight coming off an embarrassing loss is a rinky dink move.

He's in the top 10, was the last man to have the title and defended it 2x. If they were to make an interim title fight with JDS, there is absolutely no one that would have a bigger claim to the opposite spot than Brock at this point to go along with him being the biggest draw

| I agree and I am a Brock fan, but i think if he and JDS fought and Brock won he would deserve to be an interim champ then as if JDS won against Brock. | |

But he did get his brains scrambled by Brock and Carwin and put on one of the worst main events in UFC history. And realistically despite the experience, he has essentially nothing to offer JDS

Just because Nelson's fat ass couldn't get him down after having his head beat in doesn't mean Brock couldn't take him down and keep him there Mir has terrible wrestling and would just be a punching dummy until it ended at some point
