| I don't think so.
You had Kawajiri who only had one loss in that time period, which he avenged. He beat Edwards during that time. You had Joachim Hansen who was whooping solid guys. Of couse you had BJ Penn, Jens Pulver, Takanori Gomi, and Caol Uno.
I don't think so. Edwards had an awesome 2004 as far as beating good level competition but i felt a few guys were better during that time. | |

| cant argue with Kawajiri since your right he beat Yves in Shooto during the stretch, in fact he was Yves only loss in those 2 years
he was probably better than Uno after 02
best in UFC at the time? | |

| If you don't count BJ Penn who was going through the revolving door of 155 and 170 and UFC and Rumble on the Rock in that time...then yes, Yves was probably the best LW in the UFC during that time, but BJ would have beat him if they fought in that time. | |
