| It has been a big few weeks for doom and gloom in regards to FEG's future as well as the future of Dynamite!! 2010. Things were left off with Dynamite!! 2010 happening, but only possibly airing on Japanese PPV with the TBS broadcast deal falling through over the past few weeks. This came from insiders in Japan; managers, fighters, industry analysts and the list goes on. Of course, though, nobody would go on the record and place their necks on the line.
Mike Kogan has proven to be a valuable resource when it comes to being a gobetween for Westerners when it comes to matters of FEG's Japanese operations, but sometimes it takes time. When Head Kick Legend initially contacted Kogan at the beginning of the week about the sale rumors he had heard nothing of it, and of course, FEG representatives in Japan refused comment to any members of the media. Tonight Kogan went on the record in public (Twitter is a great place - @headkicklegend @mikekogan) to clear up a few matters.
According to Mike Kogan Dynamite!! 2010 will air on TBS in Japan as scheduled, and that TBS is still sponsoring the event. So according to Kogan, everything will happen as planned; TBS will cover a lot of the costs of the event and broadcast the usual stripped down version of the event on television. For those in doubt, TBS has yet to pull the K-1 Dynamite section of their website.
As for PUJI? The PUJI deal is complicated, Kogan states, but they never promised FEG money. They promised to help find investors and raise money to invest in FEG, but were unable to find proper investors. Most likely from FEG's refusal to do any complicated restructuring. According to Kogan FEG still is in need of funding, while they might not be looking for "buyers" right now they do need investors to survive. Semantics, if you ask me, but logical. I can't see Ishii wanting to lose K-1 and he'd most likely rather go broke than see K-1 in someone else's hands.
K-1 lingers on. | |

| I hope it does air, even though it is unlikely I watch it live. I just feel more comfortable on NYE knowing there is Japanese MMA on TV somewhere. | |
