If you see what their doing it's a legitamate arguement. Not sure I agree with going that far but strategic military information regarding a war currently being fought WILL result in US deaths...not really that far fetched.

The dipshit Marine (Brad Manning) who gave him all of this info has been in lockup since the first wave of releases and will likely be courtmarshalled and spend the rest of his life in military prison for treason. If they get their hands on Assange, they should and will attempt to jail him on charges of espionage. Problem is how outdated the laws on espionage are. They won't stick... But will in all likelihood cause our government to create new statute's to punish people who insist on putting our national security at risk.

Imagine where we would be if we held press conferences every day to tell the world our plans and what we knew about them. We would be Canada's bitch right about now... Look, we all have things that we don't want others to know about. We keep secrets from our families, women, the government, etc. Do you believe that we should share everything with everyone who asks? Can't be hypocritical here... I mean I'm sure that you weren't happy when these pictures that were supposed to be between you and your doctor got out, were you?

Everyone praised Wikileaks when it is China or Russia having secrets leaked. There is a balance between secrecy and liberty that must be struck. In the days of the Patriot Act and all the unconstitutional things going on, you'll have a hard time selling me on government impunity. The people deserve to know some things.

Careful in suggesting that "everyone" praised wikileaks. I am in no way a fan of anyone running around sharing anyone's secrets. In most cases, far more harm than good is caused from the smallest secret of the basemant online gamer to these types of leaks. What exactly is benefitted from these types of leaks getting out? Short of a handful of citizens that feel that they are somehow entitled on some level to need or deserve to know this information... Or the actual endangerment of American citizens and or military personel along with the embarrassment of our country and its leadership...?
