| I'd assume the division was stocked as full as all the other divisions, and now you're adding a fully stocked WEC division. Compared to the other division I figure 155 is significantly bigger.
Is a wave of cuts in the future.

| Yes, but LW has been the deepest division in all of MMA in my opinion for a while. This will weed out several fighters and make a pretty strong division a little stronger. | |

| I think a wave of cuts are coming. IMO very few former wec lws will remain in the ufc. Some will try to cut to 145 I would think. But I'm guessing most will be trying to land a contract with Bellator or SF in the near future. | |

| Just like the thread I brought up yesterday. With 145lbs division now being on the big stage you will see some current 155lbers making the cut to 145lbs. That also goes for current WEC LW who might think it is now better to make that cut then stay at 155 with the UFC guys. | |

well that leads me to another question. Was the WEC 145 and 135 division as fully stocked as the standard UFC divisions, and if not, will they then try to fill those divisions up?

I think you will see more interest in those weight classes now. They won't have to look for more fighter I expect plenty to come knocking. What I think this does now is get everyone fighting at their ideal weight. Fighters will come running to get into the big show.

| This shouldn't even be a thread. These things will get worked out with weight drops, cuts, etc. When the UFC absorbs another company, it will go through this again. Just business as usual. | |

Come on, this merger is a big deal and threads being created about the effects of it is just natural.

| not for long just give it a year or so and a lot of them will be gone. Thats the only downside of the merge is that the lw guys have even more pressure to perform and there will be zero easy fights. Bj better stay at 170 or he will be the legend all of the young guns will try to retire. | |

| There are a lot of lightweights fighting on the next 2 cards. Expect lots of cuts from those. | |
