I did not expect shlemenko to survive that intial onslaught. Dude was super tough. Lombard gassed but was able to stall his way to the finish line. If Shlemenko could have stuffed a few takedowns or stay out of the clinch he may have been able to win that one late.

yeah, bellator has accumalated a nice listing of champs, but their divisions are still pretty thin(170 prob being their best). I figured shlemenko would get worked, so he impressed me tonight. And of course, the Bellator champ calls out the SF champ.

| yeah that would be good, im really hoping SF backs up their talk of their willingness to co-promote. I'll be pretty dissapointed if Gil vs Eddie does not happen.

| Megumi kind of got the shaft. Zoila is this season's Pat Curran. Won a tournament after two questionable decisions.
Jimmy Smith calling it the best streak in the history of MMA made me chuckle. Not because it's so so wrong when you look at what guys like Fedor, Lyoto and of course Spider have done. Not to mention i would take Kaufman's streak over better competition in womens MMA but mainly because he obviously tried to stop himself from saying it but could not catch himself on time.
Thats a really good win for Lombard. Probably the best of his career but it shows that he's no Mike Tyson at MW. Shlemenko is 10 times the fighter Jay Silva and Whisper are and it showed. At the same time, Shlemenko is not really top 10 caliber IMO. Maybe top 20 if you stack him up...maybe...but it still makes me unsure if Lombard is really that advanced from his Bushido days.

| i would be all in for the the eddie vs gil match and imo gil would be able to take care of eddie without a problem however coker did make a good point on inside mma. No one has called him directly to work out a match. As we know scott has no problem letting his champions go fight elsewer and gil might end up fighting in dream at the end of the year. If anything bellator needs strikeforce more than they need the eddie fight. After eddie defeated huerta(who wasnt even in the top 50) the way he did who else is left for their champ in the lw division. At least gil has several other interesting match ups ahead of him and rematches against aoki and thompson. Heck i'd even be interested to see gil go up against noons at lw | |
