| Man is this guy good, huge win for him. Too bad Hendo's getting next shot at MW, although deserved, would love to see Nate vs. Hendo. Would u think that Nate would get next shot after Hendo? or would that end up being too long a layoff? Who would he fight next is not? Akiyama? | |

| see, didn't stamp even though I edited his topic to fix nate's spelling.
nate should fight Hendo or Silva and no one else. Ed Soras says their camp doesn't find either a fight with Hendo or Nate interesting at this stage and they need to fight to establish a true contender.

| I think Nate should fight Hendo. They both deserve a title shot but they both already lost to Anderson once... I'd rather see Anderson fight some more big names at LHW or HW since he's serious about retiring. Then he can fight Nate/Hendo winner, who would clearly be the #1 contender. | |

| Ten to one Dan doesn't try that reckless-right-hand-with-abandon approach with Nate, who seems to get more powerful the more he fights. | |

| Well pretty sure Hendo's getting next shot, even though that fight would be epic.
I'm been saying for a while Nate's the 2nd best MW out there, at least IMO, he's soo well rounded, and his striking is amazing now (the combo against Wilson).
Too bad they didn't wait till after this fight to book Vitor right

| I think if Vitor wins, he gets next shot and Nate and Dan have to fight it out. Anderson though has said he'd rather play with Mir(I think he has a personal vendetta against him for the Nog fight) than fight Henderson or Nate and he said he doesn't have interest in fighting either one of them(Maia was in the discussion then too) until they fight each other to establish a true number one contender. | |

| Anderson KO's Mir first off
But I'm surprised he wouldn't want to fight Nate again, he's soo much better from when they first fought, Hendo, is the same IMO, still mad good obviously.
Nate will be Champ someday, it may be after Anderson retires, but he'll def be Champ.

| Ya, we can't expect Hendo to fight at a high level much longer. Nate is the future of the division. | |

| Nate vs Hendo should be next.
Is Franklin vs Nate out of the question?

| Either way there are some great fights out there and some real competition for Spider. Nate did look great last night what a huge win against a great fighter in Maia. | |

| Man everyone still keeps forgetting about Yushin Okami but yes Hendo should get the next shot. After that I would give it to Okami vs Marquardt winner if Okami wins impressively against Chael Sonnen if Okami wins a close decision then give the shot to Marquardt right away. | |

| Actually Zuffa should just wack Okami as he leaves the gym one day with ak47s so he can stop being offered big fights and then getting hurt. Not as if he'd beat any of those guys anyway. | |

I agree it was a good win, but I don't know if I can say that Nate looked "great" in those 7 seconds. And Im pretty sure the great fighter label does not apply to Maia.

Maia may have earned the great label as a BJJ player, but in MMA he is far from earning that distinction.

| im not saying his career is over. But what has that guy done to earn "great" status? He hasn't yet earned a title fight, and after last night, it might be years b4 he gets in one, if he ever does. | |

| Maia will def get back into contention, I'll gaurentee he wins his next fight without even knowing his opponent. No shame in losing to IMO the 2nd best MW in the World | |

| I like Maia's skills on the ground as a fighter, but it almost seems like you gotta be good on your feet as well as on the ground to be a champion these days.
Obviously Maia needs to work on his standup before I would consider him a serious contender at this point.

| Kingspwn needs to go on a UFC hype rant regarding Maia. I would have thought after last night it wouldn't really be necessary, but I guess not. | |
