| Do you have any predictions for 2010? Are there any fighters that you think will rise through the ranks to become a contender? Are there any contenders that you think will fall? Are there any fighters that had a bad 2009 that you think will make a comeback this year? Will any titles change?
I think Faber will make a comeback this year. I am also really hoping that Franklin will make a comeback after his surgery. I would love for Chuck or Wandy to put together a couple wins this year but I wouldn't put any money on it. If I were going to predict one title to change hands, it would be the LHW title. Lyoto's last fight showed that he is beatable.

| My prediction is that Sf will start to falter as the cost of paying M-1 Global from their profits starts to eat away at the bottomline. All this while the UFC starts raising salaries (slightly) while keeping name talent in the organization. | |

| Lots of strange predictions here. Mine fly in the face of some of yours guys lol.
Lesnar fights again, is a shell of his former self, loses his next fight and could then possibly call it quits.
Kimbo wins another fight.
Paul Daley is exposed in the very near future on the ground(Liddell was a D1 wrestler, not a British Manhoef) and later on his feet.
Franklin and Jardine lose again by KO.
Hendo beats Shields to a pulp.
Overeem loses in MMA to Arlovski or someone else in Dream, and is stripped of his title.
Aldo loses to Faber, who immediately defends against Brown.
Strikeforce continues to grow as a promotion, gets a deal with a lower tier cable network like USA and starts co-promoting UFC PPVs with replays and free events.
Lyoto decisions Shogun again.
Rashad and Rampage fight, ending in Rampage's first ever KO via punch. The A-team is a flop. Rampage flips out again.
Sengoku folds into Dream.
Bellator folds.
Dream and Strikeforce enter into an even closer partnership.
Roy Nelson becomes a top ten HW.

| Hmmm predictions.
Overrated Daley gets whooped by anyone that can wrestle. Bones has a good year and whoops everyone he faces. Overeem finds a way out of defending his title. Fedor and Anderson only fight twice and of course both win.
Rampage vs Rashad... to close to call. Rashad does everything that Page does but better except he dont have the chin. Rashad I think wants it more.

| Miguel Torres wins his belt back.
Jens Pulver actually wins a fight.
People will consider Shane Carwin a can by the end of the year and Frank Mir will get virtually no credit for destroying him exactly three months after he does.
Dan Henderson will defeat Jake Shields and then lose two fights in a row. One to Gegard Mousasi and the next to Jacare Souza. I'm calling it. There will be no Fedor megafight.
Brock Lesnar will be back this year.
Overeem will fight twice for Strikeforce this year.
Anderson Silva will vacate his MW belt and fight at HW.
Rampage will retire without taking a loss.
Paul Daley is exposed...as not only worthless on the ground(again) but overrated on the feet by Koscheck. Just like Rumble.
Paulo Thiago actually gets some respect.
Jon Fitch actually has an entertaining fight
Mirko CroCop beats Rothwell via vintage head kick. Rothwell is cut.
Kimbo is fed another can with no ground game and brawler style striking.
Frank Mir becomes interim HW champ at some point but is snubbed a rematch with a returning Brock Lesnar right off the bat.
Cain takes a loss.
Lyoto beats Shogun via decision with zero controversy
Wanderlei Silva is released and retires after another loss...sadly to Michael Bisping.
Win or lose. January 30th will be the first and last time we see Herchel Walker fight MMA.
Kyra Gracie will fight MMA in Brazil and win by submission after looking weak on the standup.
Andrei Arlovski will return to UFC and do very well.
Aleksander Emelianenko will fight in the states.
Mariusz Pudzianowski will fight in the states.
Josh Barnett will fight in the states.
Strikeforce will put on a PPV in the summer.
Lyoto and Rogerio will fight eachother.
Condit will face Martin Kampmann in a rematch and kick his ass.
this is fun, i'm going to training now but i'll have more later....

| Correction - I mean strikeforce counter-promotes UFC, not co-promotes.
Strikeforce continues to grow and do well, eventually earning brand recognition the UFC enjoys, to a smaller degree, and is able to deal with the loss of these supposed "stars"(as if Strikeforce's success has hinged on a bunch of guys they only recently signed anyway, lol)
Of all the silly predictions that will never ever come true in a million years on all these lists, the only one I really felt inclined to respond to was the Aldo - Penn "superfight". BJ Penn would die laughing at the idea of a fight with him. This super fight happens after he defends his inferior belt in an inferior weight class once? Be real farmer.

| Honestly, I think urs is the silliest prediction, there success depends 100% on their big stars, a lot of whom I think they lose in a years time. They lose Sheilds, Mousasi, Nick, and especially Fedor, or even 2 of those guys, that's trouble. | |

| I disagree with your premise on Strikeforce on several fronts;
First, most MMA fans, the quote "casual" fanbase that is supposedly needed to keep an organization afloat still doesn't care a whole lot about those guys. Certainly not as much as you think anyway. Mousasi has fought but twice in America, nobody gives a fuck about Jake Shields in reality, especially after his last fight and everyone just learned who Fedor was yesterday. Is Nick Diaz a promotion breaker? The UFC didn't seem to think so when they cut him. Besides, none of the guys you mentioned have been signed much longer than 12 months if at all.
Secondly, Strikeforce is bringing in new potential stars all the time, such as Tyrone Woodley Marius Zaromskis, Gilbert Melendez, Bobby Lashley, Shane Del Rosario, King Mo, Melvin Manhoef, MTV's Mayhem Miller, Jacare and most importantly, the man who scored the most talked about knockout in the entire history of the entire sport, Dan Henderson. Remember, people a year ago were crying that Strikeforce couldn't bank on Shamrock and Cung Le forever, and those two guys are essentially after thoughts in 2010. If anything, Strikeforce is doing a better job of generating new stars than the UFC is at this point, and the UFC has generated a boatload, including nearly it's entire HW division in the last year and a half itself.
Thirdly, I don't believe MMA, and especially free, non-PPV MMA like Strikeforce, is as strictly star driven at this point as you do. Strikeforce has done just fine and turned profits the entire time it has been around, and none of the guys have been signed much lot longer than 12 months, if at all. Like I said, Frank Shamrock, Cung Le, and names like that were what Strikeforce used to bank on, but they've already moved well beyond that. It's a much easier sell to get people to watch something for free than spend 50 bucks on it. You're confusing the UFC business model's with Strikeforce's. They are very different.
Fourthly, Strikeforce offers an entire product the UFC does not ; female MMA. While Gina's loss does hurt that aspect of it a little bit, it will not cripple it, and people will still talk about it and tune in.
Lastly, EliteXC had most of the guys you named, apart from Fedor, who practically a week ago was seen by a lot as some sort of "promotion killer" and MMA's most bankable star, Kimbo, and was in big big financial trouble long before they ever went under. One pink hair'd jab ended the entire circus. Scott Coker is the real reason the promotion makes money. They do it right. They know how to promote fights. Coker has been promoting successfully for many years.

| That explain why all those fighters I named are on the main card, oh wait? Big names make Orgs, the UFC is not the best, most popular Org in the World without the best fighters. They lose their best fighters, they lose marketabilty of their product, Try not to type so much with saying so little sometime, please bro.
Also to real fans Women MMA is still semi popular, but with Gina getting beat down by a half man, it lost a bit of it's luster to the general pop.

| LA, are you stupid man? Honestly. Did you go to college?
I try and try to be nice to you in the face of your blantant idiocy but it gets really hard. Dan not the best? Jacare not the best? Kimbo not a draw? Was Lesnar not a draw even before retards such as yourself were tricked into thinking he is the Incredible Hulk?
Has Strikeforce not been successful with even lower ranked fighters before?
All of those guys you named besides Fedor worked their way up the rankings outside of the UFC/Pride, could all the rest of those guys all of a sudden not do that?
So basically everyone, this is what LA is saying ;
When and if Jake Shields and Gegard Mousasi enter the UFC, another Mousasi, Shields, Rogers, Mayhem ect ect ect couldn't ever happen, and all of a sudden Strikeforce, who has done great to this point will lose all their money, TV deals, capital, viewers and fold, because stars can't be created through any other means than the UFC hype train, and wrestlers like Lashley and UFC superstars like Henderson no one will all of a sudden care about. People only watch MMA for good fighters, the best in the world. Nevermind the fact Anderson without a second star with him does 300k or less buys and any fight Kimbo is a part of immediately enters the top five MMA fights of all time.
LA, you may have the worst opinion in the history of this forum here. Literally.

| Hendo's KO at UFC 100 was the most talked about KO of all time. I heard more people talking about it outside the internet and MMA circles than ever. Dan had the most exciting finish on the most watched UFC card ever.
Can you think of any other KO's that made Top Plays on sports center.
And FYI, Dan would still be a much bigger draw than mother fucking Jake Shields or Mousasi, who no one even knows about. Gay-guy ma-whats-he?
look, even I concede points when proven wrong. There is no harm in admitting you were short sighted in how you look at Strikeforce's future. They are certainly here to stay.

| Not buying staying power if they lose some of their stars
And yeah Dan had a great KO, but he's 39 compared with those other two guys whom have youth and time to improve their names.
Sheilds would be a WW again to make some good fights
The point was though losing some of ur best fighters will have an impact, how could someone argue it wouldn't

| Did you read what I was saying at all? How long as Strikeforce had them guys, any of them? Not even a year. They haven't needed them to make it this far.
Has Strikeforce ever had money problems? Haven't they done fine before Mousasi, Diaz ect?
Anyway, I rattled off a shit-ton of young studs who they could build into stars just like the small handful of guys you mentioned. How could anyone argue that?
Strikeforce is great at replacing stars. And besides, as I said, free MMA is a lot easier to sell than PPV. Casuals at my office around the time of the Gina - Cyborg fight were all like "shit seven bucks a month is way better than 50". I know tons of casuals who are getting down with Strikeforce.
Ya it will have a small impact, will it be even close to life threatening, very, very, very unlikely and so far no one has presented any evidence at all to prove otherwise.

| They did ok, but much of their recent success has been due to the growth of their roster.
And I didn't comment on those so-called young studs, because there isn't that many, especially any which will be huge draws, and I only buy into half of them.

| Also, all this is predicated on the UFC signing these guys this year, which is a big if, and the UFC releasing no stars or not meeting terms with current stars, another gigantic if.
I am curious, anyone else think LA has any merit to his opinions?

| Lesnar will never fight again, or at least next year.
Overeem will continue juicing and duck Fedor and be stripped of the title. Fedor becomes a champ and idk maybe he fights Lashley as a "big fight".
Nog will win the belt in a rematch against Mir, after he beats Cain.
Machida ko's Shogun in the rematch, Anderson beats Ramapge after Rampage beats Rashad. Ok that might just be wishful thinking. I want to see Anderson making the permanent jump to 205 after 2 more defenses. Jon Jones is involved in some big fights and he becomes a contender.
Mousai continues to look good, a match with Hendo is on the top of my wish list.
Nick Diaz establishes himslef as the best ww outside of ufc GSP continues to dominate, BJ should be smart and let it go, as good as he's looked recently he still gets crushed by GSP.
Bj continues his LW reign.
Aoki wins SF lw belt. | |

| Oggy's predictions are all pretty good apart from the fact he thinks BJ is smart enough to let GSP go. lol. He won't. He loses again.
And maybe it's wishful thinking with Anderson and Rampage, because I am sure Rampage knows the type of harm Anderson Silva will do to him in the clinch or striking.
