| NOMINEES FOR 1920-1940
Pancho Villa-90 wins when he died at 23. Flyweight king. Defeated an older Jimmy Wilde.
Panama Al Brown-Bantamweight freak. 5'11 with a 76 inch reach. Champ for seven years. Spent many years in Europe.
Tony Canzoneri-A teenage world champion. THE MAN at 126, 134 and 140. Got a draw at 118. Beat over a dozen HOFers.
Henry Armstrong-Held three of the eight belts at the same time.
Barney Ross-THE MAN at 135-140-147. Defeated the best in a great era.
Benny Leonard-Arguably the greatest 135 of all time. Dominant in maybe the greatest lightweight era ever.
Jimmy McLarnin-Beat top guys from 112-147. A dozen wins over HOFers.
Mickey Walker-Welter and middle king. Beat reigning LHW champ as well and got a draw with Jack Sharkey at heavy.
Gene Tunney-Defeated Dempsey, Greb, Carpentier and Loughran.
Tommy Loughran-Defeated Greb, Braddock, Walker, Stribling, McTigue. One of the great left hands in history.
Joe Louis-25 title defenses. NEXT!
Billy Conn-Dominant middle and light heavy. Also beat eight ranked heavies.
My own view is this era was the best the sport has seen.

| Yes to everyone but Villa, Brown, and Kid. I do not know them that well so they get a non-vote from me. |
