wow 3 years ago looked like this guy would be a stud

Every washed up running back looked like a stud a day ago.

I cut him after the draft in my league. I had Ryan Grant and Vincent Jackson on my team too. Darren Mcfadden was a free agent. So was Brandon Jackson and LT(someone just cut him).

They aint no mo.

In my money league i took mcfadden rd 8 pick one and was happy he was still there.

Sure they are. The average career for a running back is under four years.

JJ Arrington-Not on a roster
Eric Shelton-Not on a roster
Frank Gore-starter
Vernand Morency-Not on a roster
Ryan Moats-Not on a roster
Maurice Clarett-Not on a roster

After five years, five of the nine draft choices are no longer in the league.

Running backs of ALL qualities are notoriously fragile and unpredictable creatures.

I'm doing 2006 to see if it is different.

Lawrence Maroney-Backup
DeAngelo Williams-starter
Jerius Norwood-backup
Brian Calhoun-Out of league

That's after only four years and two have to be considered busts.

What really drives the fragility point home is that out of 180 draft choices I looked up in those two years only 14 were running backs. That's 7.8%. Yet most teams carry closer to 10% of their roster as RB's.

my point isnt when he was drafter its that after 1 year everyone was hailing him as a future all star then he busted

Morency never had a big year, Moats had to wait several years to become a stable back

just dont see many guys get alot of hype like that being that yound and then boom its over

like another Ickey Woods without injuries

The only stat I've ever heard for running back average was 3 years. Bird completely and utterly speaking from his ass here.

Running backs are cattle.

Unless you got a bonafide Chris Johnson, you get a running back asking for big money, trade his ass for a linemen.
