Rafael Marquez vs Juan Manuel Lopez in motion for September 18th

Rumor has it that two-time former world champion Rafael Márquez of Mexico could face off againat Puerto Rican star Juan Manuel López on September 18 in Las Vegas for Juanma’s WBO featherweight world championship. The clash would take place the week of the annual Mexican Independance Day festivities and be the latest collision in the fabled rivalry between Mexican and Puerto Rican fighters. Sources report that a lot depends Juanma’s scheduled defense against Filipino Bernabe Concepcion on July 10 in Puerto Rico.

I am worried for Marquez, JuanMa is a young hungry powerful lion. Maybe his vast experience could make it interesting. That's what I am hoping for, because I would hate to see Rafael brutally knocked out.

As much as I want Juanma v. Caballero, if he goes Concepcion then Marquez he'll have my respect. There's never a problem when good fights are being made.

It's a good fight, but I think JuanMa is going to tear apart an againg Raffy. He should have gone for Vic first, no way Vic was going to carry his power at 126.

completely agree. i just think that marquez' experience will make up for his age. juanma is a good fighter and i think highly of him, but i dont think that he will be able to beat marquez.
