No warmup fight for Vitor: Title fight in Nov

Not sure what I think about this. I kinda wanted to see him get in the cage with a Belcher type first given the layoff plus the injury

why are they rushing this?

This kind of sucks, I can't see how Belfort can possibly be prepared for this kind of fight after such a long layoff.

Vitor is gonna do to Anderson, what Shogun did to Machida! He willl be ready and rested.

I'll be excited for it but I definitely think Vitor is at a disadvantage because of the layoff.

Bad idea in my opinion, Vitor will have been inactive for almost what 13 months ? He's not even earned his title shot, he beat Franklin at a catchweight, and didn't even make the limit.

He should face Alan Belcher or a top middleweight in a title eliminator.

Yeah i think Vitor should have a fight with Alan Belcher also. It would be an awesome fight.

If Anderson beats Sonnen, than they want a striker with an actual chance at beating him. Probably don't want to risk Vitor getting injured in a warm-up fight. I have no problem with this.

I understand their thinking, but it's been that long since Vitor's fought, that he needs to re-earn a title shot in my opinion.

Well, where do you rank Vitor in that division? If he's top ten, then I don't care if he fights for the title. I think he could be top five after destroying two classic MW powers in Franklin and Lindland [I know that doesn't mean too much today].

It isn't really about rank at this point. In this case it's about styles. Vitor is the ONLY Middleweight on the planet right now who could in theory match Anderson in hand speed and striking prowess.

Anyone think they're rushing it through so Dana can push Anderson to move up to 205 (if he wins both fights, of course).

He earned it a while ago, sucks he has no tune up fight, but I'm sure he'll be prepared, still Anderson by KO

I think Vitor will make it exciting but I'm still picking Anderson by KO.

I think Anderson will be very wary of engaging with Vitor much like he was with Cote down the stretch. Especially if Vitor can land some nice shots early

Vitor is worthy, 3 full KO in row and the last was against the long time MW champ, and he will of had plenty of time to of recovered from any effects of his previous shoulder injury. He is pro enough to not have ring rust be a significant issue for getting up for his big fight. Sonnen is getting his shot, there is no name that comes to mind who should be getting the next other than Vitor. Belchar is cracking the #10 position in the rankings barely right now, that would be true rushing to put him into an eliminator, I would rater see him fight the winner of Wand/Akiyama.

He already beat Akiyama.

You wouldn't be interested in seeing Belchar fight the winner of that fight?

that is exactly what I think is going on.

I didn't say I wouldn't be interested, but we already saw Belcher beat Akiyama really, and he's only like two fights removed from doing so, I don't want to see him fight a rematch from just a year ago.
