Sponsor claims Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier nearly came to blows at 2011 World MMA Awards

You know the old saying, "Leave it all in the cage." Well, Jon Jones and
Daniel Cormier nearly left it all in the street after a brief scuffle
at the World MMA Awards.

The general consensus is that sooner or later, Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones and undefeated Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix winner Daniel Cormier are going to fight inside the Octagon.

And, had cooler heads not prevailed, it would have been a rematch from their 2011 rumble at the World MMA Awards.

Rexx claims he befriended Jones at the annual awards show, where the
conversation eventually turned to the possibility of a future business
relationship.

Or not.

According to his appearance on MMA Roasted (via MMA.tv), "Bones" told Rexx he wasn't going to (expletive) with any company that was in cahoots with "DC."

So at that point Jon Jones and
Malki Kawa are getting into a limo, and Daniel walked outside and
grabbed Jon by the arm, and spun him around and was like, "Dude, you got
f-- problem with me?"
And I was like, "Oh my God."
So they are facing off.
Jon said "Yo, I think that you, King Mo, and Rashad Evans, ya'll full of yourselves."
He just talked s-- about Daniel. They were like in each other's face.
Daniel
was like, "Motherf-- you don't know anything about me. I'm a grown ass
man. This all started when you claimed to be this wrestling aficionado,
and when you met me, you didn't know who I was. Motherf-- you knew who I
was. I knew every wrestler when I was coming up."

Cormier has been campaigning for a fight against Jones for well over a year, even threatening to put the champ "on his back" once the cage door closes. Unless "Bones" makes good on this promise,
it's a fight that would require the former Olympian to drop down to 205
pounds, which he would be willing to do over the course of a full
season of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF).

Jones, however, wasn't interested in wasting time with a "relative unknown" like Cormier, and instead opted to coach TUF against former middleweight Chael Sonnen. "DC," meanwhile, finally made his UFC debut with a unanimous decision win over Frank Mir last month in San Jose.

If they can't find a way to settle this thing inside the cage, there's always the parking lot of this year's World MMA Awards.

Wow, I hope they fight at a catchweight of 215. Would like to see Cormier lay him out.
