| ahh more hate. Love it.
Let's get to the bottom of it though. What are you afraid of? What is it about the stigma attached to conspiracy theories that makes you want to attack people who question government, who want the truth, or do research and critically think and analyze for themselves?
I can't even talk about legitimate, admitted, declassified conspiracies without being fire bombed on this site.
I know, I know, it's annoying. Off the wall bat shit crazy. I should just take my anti-depressants, wash it down with diet coke, turn on jerry springer and appreciate that I live in the greatest country in the world...

| For the record the smiley face was not laughing at conspiracy theorists, but instead laughing at the probable discussion that would lead from such a topic as this.
That said, I still think Oggy is a nut job.

| And if anyone was wondering why I haven't been on this site in a while. Well I just spent about 5 hrs here. I was fairly productive during my time away.
I have shit to do. | |

| for the record, there definitely are people who take conspiracy theories way too far, well poisoners if you will. I think people need to understand the difference between legitimate researched conspiracies, and entertainment conspiracies or disinfo for profit. As much as I hate mainstream media, there are plenty of people who give the conspiracy label a bad name intentionally and are just as bad as the talking heads on cnn/msnbc/fox. | |

| My thoughts on the thread topic is this:
I think conspiracy theorists have enjoyed a golden age of sorts. The platform is there, information that has never been there before is there, millions of potential followers are there, and yet a level anonymity is still enjoyed. So mistakes can be made, crazier and crazier stories are allowed to be spread without real fear of reprucussion.
But because of that, I do wonder, in the wake of newtown, and what may or may not come out of this boston bombing, will we begin to see a cry wolf scenario where there are so many conspiracies out there that none will be taken seriously.

You don't have to get your news from Ron Burgandy anymore. The more the better, even if they are off the wall. Nothing should ever be simply ignored or in the opposite something should never be simply accepted either.. its to early to form any opinions.. I think that if they really did make an arrest (like that was reported earlier) off of an image that hasn't even been given to the public to help find.. would have been really odd.

Even with facial recognition you would think they would want the public to see the guy's face to help locate him. Id day this has to be the biggest cluster fuck our media has given us with the last 48 hours of reporting.

| whilst i believe it's absolutely certain that most governments across the world engage in dodgy, illegal shit that infringes on the human rights of their own citizens for personal gain. the fact that there are so many conspiracy theorists out there with all sorts of crazy ideas based on flimsy evidence damages the credibility of conspiracy theories on the whole.
9/11 for example, i don't know how many people it would have taken for the US government to pull off, but i'm guessing it would be a lot. the absence of credible whistle blowers indicates to me that wasn't orchestrated by the US government.
