It has alot of potential. FSU and Clemson are moving in the right direction right now. GT, VT and Miami should be contenders some years and solid other years. BC and Pitt can be decent as well. It has potential, you already have teams sneaking back into the elite status.
Of course Ville should have their years as well.

Just watch out for the SEC if it goes 16. UNC and a Virginia school is ripe for the taking.

IMO FSU just makes sense. Hell FSU and Miami. They may be down right now but Miami is still Miami.

FSU and Clemson keep getting mentioned for SEC.


As I said b4, I was not in a rush to get out of the BE, I thought with us Ville, Cincy and the addition of Boise, that it was a good spot in terms of competitiveness.

But the constant threat of further defectors was always cause for concern, and the source of much anxiety.

And Im sure that concern weighed heavy on the remaining schools when RU left, and even more so now.

Thus I am happy for your cards Beast, and I feel for the fans of Cincy, and UConn.

I highly doubt the SEC adds any teams from states they already own. It just makes things harder on UF if FSU joins. UF would lose its recruiting edge, by being the only in state school for FL recruits that can get them to NFL Lite. Plus an NC & VA schools each bring a new market. The SEC already owns the largest chunk of FL.

Why in the world would Gundy go to Tennessee? He is much more likely to reach a title game at Ok State then to attempt to rebuild Tennessee. Hell last season Ok State finished as the closest 3rd place finish in BCS history. In future seasons that would have put them in the 4 team play off. Forget the ties he has to Ok State. I don't think Tennesse is a better job right now. Oklahoma State has been the better team and program for some time now. Especially with that Boone Pickens money. Don't get me wrong, still plenty of jobs he could leave for and be in a better situation. But just being in the SEC doesn't make that a better job. Infact it makes it a more difficult job.

I personally don't think Gundy would go to Tennessee. At this point in time, it's not a better job then he currently has.

Probably get a raise, gets more fan support, biggest baddest school in the state (not 2nd fiddle to OU), and gets in the SEC.

I doubt he would get much of a raise. He is paid nicely at OSU. But he would go from the 2nd best team in a major conference to what the 8th best in the SEC? Maybe he can get lucky and push it up to 5 or 6? Right it's going to be much easier to put a top 10 team together at Ok State. IMO it would be a bad career move.
The only pluses would be going to the SEC and being THE school in the state. But IMO that isn't enough to make it a better job. Cause right now it just isn't. If Oklahoma State would have beaten OU this year then statistically they would have been the best team in the Big 12 in recent years. It would be a dumb/bad move.

I don't see how anyone can justify that as a better job right now. Cause it just isn't. SEC or not. A middle of the pack SEC job is not better then an elite Big 12 job. This isn't Miles leaving for LSU.

@ClayTravisBGID: Based on those three finalists I think Charlie Strong is the most likely to get job. I also think he's a very good hire.

Makes the most sense. He has proven more then Mora has and it's not really worth the move for Gundy.
