Forrest Griffin failed his drug test due to Xanax against Anderson Silva

He was just on the MMA hour.

Said he was taking Xanax leading up to the fight.

Also said he failed the drug test for the fight because of it, but it was never made public.

That stays in your system for about a month i think. I would hope he wasn't fighting on it. Sure looked like it. That shit makes me tired as hell. Not sure why he was taking it, but are you gonna fix my fuck up since you've avoided me all day? All i need is a yes or no.

I dont see why any fighters use any sort of substance within 6 weeks of a fight. I would want to be in the best shape possible.

Should have suspended him. Don't think the UFC has the power to force the commission to sweep it under the rug.

Are you familiar with how they do things at the Pennsylvania Athletic Commission in regards to a failed substance test?

Their website has a .pdf link to rug test results since 2000, but they are vague and anonymous.

It's odd and interesting and all on Forrest's side, but the failed drug test part and that it was never reported is even more odd to me.

Yeah kind of reminds me of the Tyson Griffin situation. Where he tested positive for marijuana and then fought again 7 months later and the positive test never really came up until after he was cut almost a year later.
