Dream Team 2012?

The Olympics are in a few months.

Which 12 players would make up the ideal US Mens Basketball team in your opinion?

Ideal team, hmmm. Can I ignore all injuries just for fun?

SG-Durant
SF-LeBron
PF-Love
C-Howard

2nd team/bench
PG-Rondo
SG-Rose
SF-Melo
PF-Griffin
C-Bynum

I went for players that will suit the international game and players on the bench who have no ego. I also went for variety.

C - Dwight Howard
PF- Carmelo Anthony
SF- Lebron James
SG- Kevin Durant
PG- Chris Paul

R1- Derrick Rose
R2- LaMarcus Aldridge
R3- Kevin Love
R4- James Harden
R5- Anthony Davis
R6- Stephen Curry
R7- J.J. Redick

LOL at Anthony Davis, I'd take Jordan from Clips over him all day. Hell I'd take Serge over Davis. He is athletic enough to play the 5 on International level.
But we do have the exact same starting 5 except I got Love over Melo for the 4.
JJ? Really? You are trying to hard to bend to the Euro style. Dream Team proved you can dominate when your talent is off the charts.

Davis would be there for his defense and to get experience. He wouldn't be getting more than 5 min a game. Remember that international games are 40 not 48 min and teams play similar to how college teams play.

BTW, Serge Ibaka isn't American.

I don't think you understand the concept of a Dream Team. You stack that bitch with talent. You don't cater to egos and the Euro style. You get an F for not following the assignment.

I think you are missing a couple very key words here. Those words are Dream Team. Google the Dream Team if you are not aware of the reference. Now attempt to duplicate the talent on that team with the most comparable talent you see available today. JJ and Davis? LOL. Try again.

If in your opinion that squad you selected is the best possible US team you could possibly come up with using current players. Your opinion is wrong.

Only differences we have is you have Wade and Chandler and I have Bynum and D-Will. Can't go wrong either way.

Nevermind, missed that you had Kobe and I had Blake.

Yeah, I was thinking Williams too. Hard to leave him out, but I went another big man in Chandler with his D to even out the lineup.

Went Love as a center. Bynum is probably the more obvious choice at center but I'm not convinced he has, it, in the same way.

Yeah I had to move KD to SG just to fit Love into the starting lineup. Howard with no goal tending is just scary so I had to have him at center since IMO when healthy he is still a much better defender then Tyson. I feel wrong for leaving Kobe off the roster but I like how D-Will can go 1 or 2.

When you have guys like Lebron and Kobe who need the ball in their hands I think it more important to put shooters around them.

U put Howard, KD, LeBron thats a gold medal right there.
