They banned One More Round and guess what? Hughes, KenFlo, & Stitch all work for the UFC. They banned Affliction and guess what? GSP, Rampage, and Chuck all stil work for the UFC. There are stiff rules and big prices to sponsor the UFC. We don't know what happened. King is just a UFC hater.

Well I would ask: when did it become likely that he signs with SF? And the whole idea of controlling the type of clothing that a fighter wears into the ring is strange. Does any other org in MMA lay down these laws? Does boxing? We always talk about the sponsorship $$$ that fighters get to enhance their othewise meager paydays, yet the UFC is always trying to interfere in those matters. It's pretty gay imo, and this rigity on such matter will only hurt itself in the long run.

Disagree here. While it is unfair to compare MMA and the UFC to sports like Football and the NFL in certain contexts, here we can draw similarities. The NFL has the right to ban any clothes and sponsors they want to, and they do. Brian Urlacker was fined for wearing a vitamin water hat, NFL coaches are required to wear official team gear on the sideline, and even in the 80s Jim MacMahon was fined for wearing an Adidas headband. The NFL doesn't even have as much control over their broadcasts as the UFC does.

the difference between the UFC bans and another sports ban such as the NFL is that the UFC's is selective with their bans. They do not ban all gear, wearing sponsor's clothing into the ring is done by every fighter, during every fight, typically with multiple sponsorships. But the UFC singles out companies merely because they sponsor a high profile non ufc fighter. Can Hendo or Fedor claim ownership with either comp? It's most defineatly petty and childish.

Never heard of the other company. But the UFC wouldn't ban them for sponsoring Fedor or any fighter as much as not paying the fee to be a UFC sponsor. Apparently they're some kind of skateboard/surf type company mostly with a few fighters, BJ, Vitor and Fedor. I doubt they wanted to pay the 100K fee the UFC charges to sponsor a fighter since fighting isn't a focus of the brand.

RVCA gone because of Fedor, Clinch Gear gone unless Hendo caves to UFC, childish to think otherwise. That's good business unless those fighters are with UFC.

The statement RVCA is gone because of Fedor is likely an over simplification.

They're probably gone because of not paying the sponsor fee. RVCA have three fighters, two are huge UFC stars and one is Fedor. Has the UFC banned all of Fedor's brands? Affliction and Tapout are on every show in the universe and the UFC hasn't banned them as sponsors(since Affliction as a fight company died)

It's childish to think the UFC would ban a company with longstanding ties to one of their champions for sponsoring another fighter outside the company. Sponsor Fedor = automatic ban? Not quite. A rational way to look at this is that after Fedor signed with RVCA, the UFC probably demanded more from them to maintain their rights a UFC sponsor. RVCA only has three fighters and probably felt paying a ransom to the UFC isn't a big deal.

But it is actually. Where is BJ gonna get his gi-shorts now? That's his trademark. That and one sided asskickings against lightweights.

"It happened during the negotiation process, we had a deal through the end of the year to pay a cetain amount a month to have the right to sponsor guys, which I think is not all that great for the fighters, they're taking away from some of these fighters who rely on that $$$, but we had a deal in place, and they basically cancelled that deal, and said Dan didn't resign yet so you guys are banned, and all it did was make me chuckle. We were trying to support some of these guys who were mostly fighting on the undercard."



It's iron fisted and petty at the same time.
