Edgar not moving to 145

Reported by his manager on UFC tonight

I don't think Edgar has really considered it. Its everyone else pushing it on him.

I just hope he doesn't wait until he's been finished three times brutally and on the decline. He takes a lot of damage in these fights.

Thats what I'm saying, all respect to Frankie, I just don't want to see his career shortened because he was to stubborn to drop down.

yea but what's gonna happen when he fights Aldo? He's prob gonna get lit up just like Faber and everyone else. Then what? He's stuck in a division where he will never be the top fighter as long as Aldo is there.
at 55's i truly believe he can beat any fighter on any night. He's proven he can hang with the best of the best in that weight class, and i don't think he's done yet. He will be back in the title mix real soon.

What would likely happen is Aldo would then move up. He is moving up eventually, that much is certain. Assuming he beats Hioki and Edgar, that would be the perfect time to move up.

I think he mentions outgrowing 145. he's still pretty young and I think he wants bigger fights and bigger paydays. A change in weight class will help that.

Frankie's team campaigning for the rematch. I don't want to see it personally. The LW division is stacked right now, they can't keep making rematches every time there's a close decision for the belt. Is anyone expecting Bendo-Pettis II not to be a nip and tuck 5 rounder? The winner of that against Nate Diaz probably? I expect a shitload of close fights, these guys are just that good. Enough of this instant rematch crap, its time to buck that trend. Sucks for Frankie because he had to do two of them, but them's the brakes. And besides that, he didn't deserve the win in one of them and got the shit kicked out of him in the 2nd anyway

i must be misunderstanding you. He clearly outclassed BJ in their second fight, fought Gray to a draw in their rematch that many thought he won and then knocked him out in the trilogy.

Honestly Frankie does deserve a rematch, but im ok with Pettis getting it but if it wasn't for the fact that he beat bendo once already and had a great showing at 144, i think the clear next choice is a rematch with Frankie.

I think it was a draw. I can understand a dec for Maynard. I can't be convinced of a dec for Frankie in that fight. Just my opinion.

In terms of warranted rematches that have happened or potentially might happen regarding Edgar, I think the 2nd Maynard and 1st BJ fights warranted a rematch more than the Bendo fight does, with out considering all the negative tradeoffs in the division of a third straight title fight rematch.

Could the fact that you are a Frankie fan be clouding your judgement?
