Bellator Adds 20-0 Russian Phenom Alexander Sarnavskiy to Lightweight Roster
20-0 Russian prospect Alexander Sarnavskiy has signed with Bellator Fighting Championships and will compete in their next lightweight tournament.
Bellator officials announced the signing on Tuesday.
One of the top unsigned prospects in the sport, Alexander Sarnavskiy amassed an impressive 20-0 record while competing in several promotions, but most notably fought under the M-1 Global banner for several fights.
A student under top Bellator middleweight contender Alexander Shlemenko, the Russian fighter has only gone to decision three times in his career while picking up 6 knockouts or TKO’s and 11 submissions.
“The Bellator tournament will be a difficult test for me,” Sarnavskiy said. “I will train and prepare myself the best I can. I have a huge responsibility to my coach, my manager, my fans and my country. I won’t disappoint them and I want to show them a spectacular performance.”
Sarnavskiy will join the Bellator lightweight tournament slated to kick off later this year with the winner getting a shot at the belt currently held by top ten 155lb fighter Michael Chandler.

Bellator's LW division is about on par depth wise with SF's probably, if not better.

Officials today announced the nearly complete lineup for the Sept. 28 event, which takes place at Caesar's Atlantic City in Atlantic City, N.J.
In the MTV2-televised headliner and one of four opening-round tournament bouts, former champion Lyman Good (12-2 MMA, 5-2 BFC) meets Jim Wallhead (23-6 MMA, 1-1 BFC).
Good is 2-1, which included a close Season 4 tournament loss to Rick Hawn, since losing his title to Ben Askren in 2010. He now takes on Wallhead, whose only loss in his past 11 fights came to Hawn in a Season 4 tournament fight. Most recently, "Judo Jim" has knocked off big-show vets Frank Trigg and Joey Villasenor under the BAMMA banner.
Other opening-round tournament fights include Andrey Koreshkov (10-0 MMA, 2-0 BFC) vs. Jordan Smith (17-3-1 MMA, 0-1 BFC), Tim Welch (9-3 MMA, 0-0 BFC) vs. Michail Tsarev (23-2 MMA, 0-0 BFC), and Nordine Taleb (8-1 MMA, 2-0 BFC) vs. Marius Zaromskis (18-6 MMA, 2-0 BFC).
Overall, the tournament competitors have a combined record of 120-23-1.
The prelims, which stream on Spike.com, include featherweights Alexandre "Popo" Bezerra (13-2 MMA, 5-1 BFC) vs. Jeff Smith (10-1 MMA, 0-0 BFC), lightweights Derrick Kennington (6-3 MMA, 0-1 BFC) vs. Phillipe Nover (5-4-1 MMA, 0-1 BFC), featherweights Brylan Van Artsdalen (6-4 MMA, 0-4 BFC) vs. Jay Haas (10-9 MMA, 0-1 BFC), middleweights Kelvin Tiller (4-1 MMA, 2-0 BFC) vs. Plinio Cruz (5-5 MMA, 0-1 BFC), and bantamweights Claudio Ledesma (6-3 MMA, 1-1 BFC) vs. Kenny Foster (10-6 MMA, 3-3 BFC).

Officials today announced that Bellator bantamweight champion Eduardo Dantas (14-2 MMA, 4-0 BFC), British striker Paul Daley (30-12-2 MMA, 1-0 BFC), and veteran welterweight Ryan Ford (18-4 MMA, 1-0 BFC) all will be part of the lineup.
Bellator 79 takes place Nov. 2 at Casino Rama in Rama, Ontario, Canada.
The night's main card, which will include the trio of fighters above, airs on MTV2 (and in high-definition on EPIX) following prelims on Spike.com.
Dantas meets the winner of this weekend's Bellator 73 headliner and Season 6 bantamweight-tournament final between Marcos Galvao (12-5-1 MMA, 3-2 BFC) and Luis Nogueira (14-2 MMA, 4-1 BFC).

Hopefully since Killa B and Lima were both left out of the tourny, they will be the guys matchup up on this card. Lima already beat Ford so Lima vs Daley and Ford vs Saunders sounds good to me.

Joe Warren will return to the Bellator cage on Nov. 9 to face Owen Evinger in a bantamweight tilt at Bellator 80.
Bout agreements are in place for the fight, Sherdog.com confirmed Wednesday with a source close to the contest. A venue has not yet been named for Bellator 80, but the show’s main card will air live on MTV2. Thus far, no contests have been officially announced by the promotion for the Nov. 9 event.

Bellator 75 saw Brett Rogers get his ass kicked for 3 rounds while he mainly backpeddled.
It also saw the conclusion to the worst "trilogy" in MMA history as Thiago Santos beats Prindle by DQ..nut shot.

Your not giving Prindle enough credit. That was a perfectly executed nut shot.

prime time, do you know how the ref selection is done between the zufffa and Bellatore? it seems like the regarding who do Bellator are never on UFC cards and vice versa for the refa that do ufc cards.

I'm not sure but I think the Bellator and UFC ref discrepancy could be due to Bellator's choice in locations. They tend to frequent arenas that the UFC doesn't often book shows in. Namely Connecticut, Oklahoma, Ohio, and Florida.
