Official Bellator 58 weigh-ins took place today, and all but one main-card fighter successfully made weight on a first attempt.

Bellator lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez (154) and fellow headliner Michael Chandler (154.5) were among those successfully weighing in.

Paradise Live inside Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Fla., played host to today's weigh-ins. The Hard Rock also hosts Saturday's event.

Saturday's event, which also features a 195-pound non-title fight between middleweight champion Hector Lombard (194.75) and big-show vet Trevor Prangley (193), airs on MTV2 and EPIX at a special time of 7 p.m. ET/PT. The prelims will be streamed live on MMAjunkie.com at 5 p.m. ET (2 p.m. PT).

As announced at the weigh-ins, a 115-pound female bout between Jessica Aguilar (117.5) vs. Lisa Ellis-Ward (114) won a Twitter vote and earned the final spot on the night's main card. Aguilar, though, came in heavy on her first attempt.

I think Chandler is a dangerous fight for Eddie...I don't see Prangley giving Lombard much of an issue

totally agree, Eddie is a fucking trooper! but then again so is Chandler, Alvarez poured it on in the 3rd and he took every shot

I thought Eddie had him the 3rd.

Great swings of momentum in this fight. Great action. Great fight.



Lombard again shows his great power too. Not sure who good he truly is, but in terms of one punch power, there is no questioning Lombard.

Unbelievable fight. Probably better then Shogun Hendo, it's just less people care or know about it.

Chandler, who impressed me very little vs Fierre, was awesome. Came in and fought a top 5 lightweight talent like he was one himself. Both guys showed real champions heart.

Kinda fight that a fan can really take pride in.

Despite facing stiff opposition from a stacked UFC 139 card, ratings for
this past weekend's Bellator 58 event increased dramatically from the
previous week and scored 269,000 viewers on MTV2.
The mark ties October's Bellator 52 card for the highest overall ratings of the company's current fifth season.

today confirmed the ratings information with an industry source, who
also said the viewership peaked with 345,000 viewers.
An additional 160,000 viewers watched an immediate replay of Bellator
58, meaning a total of 429,000 viewers watched the event on fight night.

If that peak rating was for the main event, that should bode well for future bellator ratings.

That whole Bellator show was good, lot of exciting exchanges and finishes. Saturday was, by a very wide margin, the most watched night of MMA in North America EVA!

I bet this has to be one of the most re-watched night of fights ever. The number of people that hopped on the internet searching for these fights the next day has to be insane.
