| I believe the term y'all are looking for is Merry Christmas. The season is about celebrating the birth if Jesus. | |

So you have no respect for Hanukkah? Also it's not all about Christmas. Holiday season is also about the New Year and celebrating this year as it comes to an end. Gotta respect all cultures and religions. That's the Christian thing to do.

| i dont read much into it. Since my family is of christian roots i call it christmas..although im an atheist and don't give a shit about the holiday now that im an adult and don't get neat presents anymore. I see it as "happy time off work"...i do still get neat presents for others though. | |

I've followed a similar path, coming from a christian family, but no longer a believer. I however fully partake in christmas and all it's pagan glory.

Bunch of reasons, but my earliest doubts came when I was fairly young and observed other religions. Couple big questions I had were: Why was christianity true and the others were not? Was there any truly solid basis for any of these religions? Why was I christian? Only because my family was Christian? Seemed to be the case. And why would god give the cold shoulder to someone who had never heard of christ? Why is it even important that I believe in Christ? Is it not enough that I do good on this earth? Should that not be the reason for eternal salvation? And the further I get from my belief's the more the supernatural stuff just looks absurd. parting the red sea, virgin births, coming back from the dead, burning bushes, snakes in gardens, Eve being made from Adam's rib, eating apples. When u look at it objectively it's pretty hard to believe that people actually believe in it. And if God is going to punish me down the line because I don't believe in christ, even though I live a good and positive life, well then god is effed up.
