Could Dominick Cruz ever carry a PPV?

The average since UFC 107 or so has been 600k.

After "Not even a well known Champ", the coma (,) indicated a pause, therefore it does not read "Not even a well know Champ never could headline and carry a card with him", but "Not even a well known Champ....... never could headline and carry a card with him"

Faber doesn't impress me and I don't know how well known he is in America but over here in australia hardly anybody has ever heard of him an even less of Cruz. If they make those numbers then all the best to them. The only person beneath lightweight I'd pay to see though is Jose Aldo.

Brock is hated and he's the biggest draw. Maybe everyone knows he wont lose. I think a GSP-Silva ppv could break the Brock-Mir 2 record.

GSP isn't as big a draw as Brock, Brock brings the most casual fans (i.e. Pro-Wrestling fans)

GSP is number 2 though. I think the UFC would promote a GSP-Silva fight more than any fight in history.

True, it could be big, I still don't think it tops the record, plus that is making one of the best possible fights in MMA, imagine if you made Brock vs Fedor. This is off track on the thread though.

Brock-Fedor would be the biggest fight in history.

Regarding Freak's comments on page 1. FW and BW will be able to head a PPV given time with UFC's marketing. They have the most exciting fights. Incredibly talented fighters. Look at Floyd and Pac. Two little guys who are famous because they have exciting, fast paced fights and are incredibly talented. They would also be FW or BW if they fought MMA. Pretty much the only thing keeping boxing relevant right now. If Urijah Faber had been in UFC all this time during his run, FW would already be headline ready. Maybe if Miguel Torres had his fights with Maeda and Mizugaki on a UFC PPV perhaps BW would be PPV ready as well. It's completely asinine to say they will never head a PPV because i guarantee they will once the divisions fully settle into the UFC.

Regarding the original topic. Cruz won't ever lead a 500K PPV, I don't think he'll get a chance to headline a PPV during his reighn because I don't see him being a long reigning champ and i don't see UFC looking to the FW and BW divisions to headline PPV's in the first year or two unless some established LW names move down to fight Aldo.

When i say Cruz won't be a dominating champ it does not mean i have a name who can beat him...but i have a feeling somebody will beat him sooner rather than later. Afterall, i never expected Bowles to come up and dethrone Torres and Cruz to dethrone Bowles. I bet Faber would probably have that ass if they fought again.
