PostSubject: Brock's kryptonite   Brock's kryptonite EmptyMon Oct 25, 2010 12:43 pm

Well, after seeing him struggle with Carwin and get schooled by Cain, I think it's pretty clear what type of fighters can beat Brock. The big marshmallow hates to be hit and fades fast against guys he can't physically bully... A literal mental midget. He likely loses to guys like JDS, Fedor, Grim, Overeem and Barnett along with obviously Cain and Carwin (And I'm sure there's some more that can be added). IMO, he only fights about 2 more years beating little guys that can't hit hard enough to hurt or keep him off, while still making incredible bank due to draw power, but never winning the title back since he won't develop the striking skills necessary to beat the elite and will always fold when taking a shot (You can't un-teach pussy)...

I thought before he would lose to Kongo. I think I could have been right. Although Kongo might just get taken down and beaten before he could do shit. He will present matchup problems still for people but there are more then a handful of HWs out there that can and should beat him if they fight.
His "one hit power" has been over hyped, his wrestling has been over hyped, his overall skill has been over over hyped.
If only people would have seen this coming...

Do you mean Nelson? I still give Brock the edge there (Slightly) because there's isn't a ton of strength and power behind that belly. But if Brock can't get on top and GnP to end it in the first, Roy's chances go way up in a hurry as the fat man has much better cardio that Brock...

Yeah, I just can't see Kongo staying on his feet after that initial bull rush. I think Kimbo might be able to take Kongo down...

Naw, Kimbo would be eating teeth. You're probably right about Brock bull rushing Kongo though.

I remember when I made my rankings and Farmer was tripping because I had Brock right were he should be. Right spot on where he really was.

Look Brock has a chin. If he didn't he would have been KOd, which he has never been, by Carwin or Cain. He has worked on his punching ability and seems better than he was when he started. I think he needs to get out of his comfort zone up in Minnesota and spend a few months with Teamquest and a few months with Randy working on his clinch game, while continuing to improve his stand up. I think he will be alright then. His biggest mistake was throwing those haymaker knees at Cain's head instead of his torso. He kept missing, when he could have been cracking ribs and slowing Cain down. Rookie mistakes are killing guys, including Fedor.

His biggest mistake was even coming out like that. It was a horrible strategy. If he didn't finish Cain that round he was going to be totally gassed. He needs to set a reasonable pace

I liked the way Brock started, the problem is it didn't faze Cain one bit.

Brock was always an overrated paper tiger. Now everyone finally admits it.
