| This fight has been talked for a while and its good to hear its finally going to get done. Its a good match up and its as good as any S6 fight. The question will be can Bute hurt Pavlik? if he cant its going to be a long night. Hopefully Bute stays long enough at SM to face the S6 tourney champion. | |

| I will be shocked if this fight comes off. It will mean that Arum is cashing out on Pavlik. I think Pavlik can still fight and even win at main event level against sluggers. He should not go anywhere slick speedsters. If he avoids the Dre's and Bute, he can feast on some winnable all out wars. Froch, AA, Miranda, Andrade, Bika, Green, or Ornelas would be fun. I don't know enough about Stieglitz but that could get a trinket. Sartison, Geale, Kessler, or Brinkley are more guys. If JT comes back, that's one of the morbid curiousity fights. I guess we will see how Kelly looks in November before more information comes out. | |

| Hate to admit it, but Bute kills Pavlik. | |

| What would happen first then, Pavlik vs Sturm or Bute?

| Pavlik retires after this one. Too slow for Bute. | |

Was Bute a big enough name for Pavlik pre Hopkins? Pavlik in my opinion wanted to stay at Middleweight after looking sluggish and short on power at the higher weights he fought at.

Do you think Kelly wanted to field less challenging offers before committing to a Bute offer? If Bute lost to either Andrade in the rematch or Miranda I bet Pavlik would have been quicker to fight Bute.

| I think it's gonna take a mobile boxer to beat Bute.. or a significantly bigger pressure fighter with considerable pop. at this point Bute has really polished his craft against fighters like Pavlik, especially if they are his size or smaller.
Pavlik will have huge problems with anyone who won't stay in the same spot for 3 seconds.
I'd still like to see Sturm vs. Pavlik though. I've never thought much of Strurm, I think Pavlik can win if he is still healthy at 160.

| That's a decent fight for Bute; he needed to step up the competition a bit. Still, he takes Pavlik apart, IMO. | |
