| The old I can kill penalties all by myself by skating in circles with the puck for 90 seconds guy and nobody can take it from me guy? I have a vague recollection I try to tell people what is was like in the Garden when Orr would take the puck behind the net and begin slowly skating up ice. By the time he reached his own blue line the place was on its feet because we KNEW he was gonna go the length of the ice and nobody could stop him. The Nutrocker is STILL great! | |

| Peggy Fleming once commented that Bobby Orr was one of the most graceful skaters she ever saw.I used to picture myself as Bobby Orr as this song played in my head on the local pond. | |

[laughing] WE ALL pictured ourselves as Robert Gordon Orr. Remember the old joke at the time? A man dies and he goes to heaven and is met by Saint Peter. He is shocked to find a hockey game going on in Heaven with all the former hockey greats like Howies Morenz and Eddie Shore. But one guy is dominating the action by skating and shooting and blocking shots. The man turns to St. Peter and says "Who's the great player wearing number four?" St Peter replies "Oh, that's God...but he thinks he's Bobby Orr!"

St Peter replies "Oh, that's God...but he thinks he's Bobby Orr!" I remember buying Rally skates thinking it would transform me into Boston Bobby.

Wings for life baby... I got NO issues with Red Wings fans. Great franchise. Orr was the most single compelling athlete to watch I've ever seen.

Orr was the most single compelling athlete to watch I've ever seen. Orr was truly amazing to be sure. A coin flip between he and Gretz fro me as far as whom I'd rather watch. As far as the Wings go, I'm a bit pessimistic as I think they're still regrouping. I see no big upgrades in the D and goalie sitation, so I think they're about where they were last year...
