| October 15 At Montreal (ESPN3.com live, ESPN Oct. 17 tape): Lucian Bute vs. Jesse Brinkley, 12 rounds, for Bute's IBF super middleweight title; Adrian Diaconu vs. Omar Sheika, 10 rounds, light heavyweights.
At Miami, Okla. (Showtime): Antonio Tarver vs. Nagy Aguilera, 10 rounds, heavyweights.
October 16 At Hamburg, Germany (ESPN3.com live, ESPN next-day tape): Vitali Klitschko vs. Shannon Briggs, 12 rounds, for Klitschko's WBC heavyweight title.
These fights should provide us with some entertainment during an October schedule that sucks otherwise.
Thoughts on these fights?

Thoughts on these fights? What? They will be in Miami? I really wish I had the money to go. Spent all mine on the Pac vs Margo tickets and hotel room. |

I thought of you Sooner when I saw that the Tarver fight was in Oklahoma, no worries, it might be fun to watch on Showtime, but it ain't worth buying a ticket to go see.

LMAO, I hope the nobody kicks Tarver's ass, but chances are it's some handpicked tomatocan, and after the fight Tarver will announce that he's ready for the Klitschko bros.

| Going to be a fun weekend.
Tarver gets retired. Shannon puts up a strong effort and gets KO'd. and Bute and Diaconu win.
The Briggs-Vitali fight is a suprisingly good one.

The Briggs-Vitali fight is a suprisingly good one. If Briggs looks anything physically like he did against Liakhovich and Sultan Ibragimov, Vitali will break him down and destroy him, hopefully Shannon comes in, in decent shape.

He really didn't look the same during the Sosnowski fight. David Haye is probably smart to avoid fighting either brother and then face Vitali next Summer.

That is precisely what Haye has in mind. That is why I was disgusted (but not surprised) that after ducking Wlad's latest offer, Haye announcd he was targeting Vitali first.

| I didn't see the last Vitali fight but I can only guess that he is slowing down. If he isn't slowing down at 39, he will probably last until 42 or 43 at the minimum considering the gap between the brothers Klitschko and the rest of the division. Also, we could then see Wlad last close to that long because he hasn't taken that much damage either. Just imagine Wlad reigning for another EIGHT YEARS (poor Ali).
Anyways, my point is there are scary and sad ramifications for the heavyweight division if Vitali isn't slowing down.

| The card I'm look forward to the most this month is this Japanese card late in the month. Linares is fighting, and you got Munroe vs. Nishioka which should be a great fight. The UK guys have repped well in the last month (the ones not named Haye), let's see what Munroe can do. | |
