| Completely shut out by Andre Ward in Green's first test since losing to Edison Miranda three years prior.
Tarvis Simms accepted the bout on eight days notice and is 38 when he fought Green. (Best opponent since Miranda)
Green came in ranked as the # 8 super middleweight in the world by The Ring Magazine. Carlos De Leon Jr. was unranked by the same publication. De leon Jr's biggest win is Buddy McGirt Jr.
Carl Daniels was on a four fight losing streak and has 17 career losses at the time of his fight with Green and is 38 at the time of their fight.
Sherwin Davis was on a four fight losing streak and lost to the likes James Kirkland, Sebastian Demers, Edison Miranda, Peter Manfredo Jr., and Giovanni Lorenzo all before fighting Green.
Darrell Woods took this fight on eleven days' notice and 39 years old at the time of the fight. 10 losses with five by KO before he stepped in the ring with Green. Tune up after a loss so I'll cut him some slack.
Lost a clear decision to Edison Miranda in a fight that he was knocked down in twice.
Should we be surprised that he was annihilated by Andre Ward?
Does he even deserve to be an alternate in the Super Six?
Is it safe to say he's overrated?
Why would anyone duck this resume?
Answering my own questions in the order they were asked:
No No Yes They wouldn't, he just brings nothing to the table. | |

| If Green wasn't American there's no way he gets into the "Super" Six from the start. Dude has no business in anything with the word "Super" in the title. | |

| Hey there are holes in your argument against the greatest sir. One Woods was ranked at the time. Two Green was very very ill when he fought Miranda and he still knocked him down. Dont be haten on my boy Green. |

| I said it all along he was overrated, his best win was over another hyped fighter 9-0 Jaidon Codrington
People liked the KO, raised Green's profile just bc of it

| I tried to explain this many times, to many people, going all the way back to the old board. As usual, no one listened. | |

| I like Green. I think he has good power and good skills. I honestly think he wasn't at his best in the Miranda fight because he was sick and not cutting weight properly. And in the Ward fight is he didn't train his body for fight night. He was drained and bone dry as Virgil Hill said.
I'm not saying he's a world beater and his fight selection has been trash, but let's let Green's next few fights play out. He has another shot on a big stage and if he does well we'll get to see him some more.
I think he got a nutritionist after the Ward disaster and that could be a huge thing for him. |
