Looks like Celestino Caballero will be making his Super Featherweight debut on Nov 27th

It looks more and more like Celestino Caballero, the featherweight contender nobody wants to fight, will move up to junior lightweight to face Jason Litzau on the Juan Manuel Marquez-Michael Katsidis HBO undercard in Las Vegas on Nov. 27. Lou DiBella, Caballero's promoter, said he has a deal with Square Ring's John Wirt, Litzau's promoter. Caballero preferred to fight at featherweight but several potential opponents didn't work out. Jonathan Barros, who hurt titlist Yuriorkis Gamboa in a decision loss to him in March, was dropped over issues related to ownership of television rights in his native Argentina. Matt Remillard was on the short list, but that didn't work out because of problems between him and his promoter. Since the fight is on a Golden Boy card, there was talk of a match with undefeated prospect Carlos Velasquez, but that went nowhere because Golden Boy and DiBella couldn't work out an option agreement. "Caballero would prefer to fight in his own division, but if he can't, he will go up and fight Litzau," DiBella said. "One thing I know -- that's a good fight and a test for both guys."

I doubt Jason's chin can stand up to Caballero. He has a habit of dropping his hands after 3 or 4 rounds & if he does....splat.

I think someone said this, but he will end up like PW where he'll being fighting against bigger fighters in which his own size advantage will be less and less of a factor.

WTF is wrong with DiBella? Why can't he get this kid the match ups that make sense? DiBella needs to do a better job for Caballero.

Problem is Cabby ain't no kid. Dude is older than Pacboy I think. He is a no-draw and has freakish height. So obviously people won't be keen on fighting him. He's like PW only more accomplished. Cabby was actually a unified trinket holder at 122.. he wanted collect another trinket from JML who ran up in weight. Now he has no trinkets and still isn't a draw.

i would like to see caballero fight velasquez but velasquez still needs about 2 to 3 more fights. velasquez looks like the real deal though.

No way the Bobfather risks his boys JuanMa and Gamboa to threat like Pelenchin, especially with his tendency to keep as many fights as possible in-house.
