Danny Green to face BJ Flores on Nov 17th ??

It's been reported in Golzka that IBO cruiserweight champion Danny Green (30-3, 27KOs) has reached a deal to fight undefeated contender BJ Flores (24-0, 15KOs) on November 17. The fight will be officially announced on Tuesday at a press conference at Star City in Syndey, Australia. There is going to be a press tour which is going to last several days. The fight will be shown on Australian pay-per-view.

It's said in the report that the IBO put a lot of pressure on Green to fight a credible opponent after the first round mishaps with opponents Roy Jones Jr. and Paul Briggs. Flores has not fought since last August. He is expected to give Green a very tough test with his boxing style.

Interesting fight, not sure who wins

I thought all that BJ FLores did was show up on FNF a couple of times a year and talk about fights. He is actually going to fight; whoa, we better check, I'm not sure the Earth is still rotating properly.

BJ should win this quite easily unless he's screwed by homecooking.

Good call. He is much longer and will just stick a jab out there to keep Green at bay.

Green was outboxed by Mundine a couple years back, if BJ has even 20% talent he should be able to handle an old blown up Green.

Wonderful, follow up beating two old men by fighting a guy who competes once every 18 months against below average competition.

I have NO interest in this. I pretty much have no interest in the cruiserweight division.

Does BJ Flores have a high paying side job? I don't understand how he can stay so inactive at the cruiserweight division. This is big for him. I know there was talk of a cruiserweight tournament I wonder if Flores was in consideration as a participant?

It's about time Flores fought somebody with a pulse.

He really should just give up the day job and try to get a full time job at espn.

Suprising to see him actually fighting.

I'm so used to his FNF schtick, "I'm ready. We're looking for the top fights against the top guys. blah blah blah blah blah." Same thing every time, following by sitting on his ass.

This is a good fight.


It's only a good fight because I know who both fighters are. A rarity these days.

I actually like the weight class more than the HWs. USS, Huck, Ross, and that dude with the long last name. Its an intresting weight class and the tournament maybe better then the super 6 because some of these guys can punch.

BTW, I didnt know BJ had balls. I thought he was going to fight a bunch of bums for the rest of his career and not test over the hill champs. This guy hasnt fought a fighter with a pulse for his whole career. Green is going to Win because unlike any of Floreses past opponents, Green has fight in him.

Cruiserweight was beginning to heat up when Adamek was champion, since he moved up to Heavyweight it's lost alot of it's steam.

I knew I read that Flores was trying to cross over into MMA, but Shine fights is a piece of shit. When is the last fight he had?

Adamek vs Haye at cruiser (or heavy) would be a sure-fire FOTY candidate.

But now they're at HW, awaiting their inevitable drubbing at the hands of a Klitschko. Well, Adamek anyway. I say he fights a K Bro within his next 3 fights at most.

Haye may very well continue to duck and "bish out."
