Zab Judah vs Lucas Matthysse in the works for Nov 6th on HBO

BoxingScene.com was advised that there are ongoing discussions for a potential junior welterweight fight between Zab Judah (39-6, 27KOs) and unbeaten puncher Lucas Matthysse (27-0, 25KOs). The show would be co-promoted by Golden Boy Promotions and Main Events. HBO would televise and the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey is the leading venue to host.

Robert Guerrero would appear in the co-feature, and returning junior middleweight James Kirkland would have his return fight off-television, but HBO plans to show clips.

Judah-Matthysse are developing and it's not exactly clear if a deal would cancel out Judah's scheduled fight with Michael Clark on October 2, which is scheduled for the Prudential Center.

I might go to this. Whenever the Williams-Martinez rematch gets signed, what date would that happen on?

I'll go to Judah-Matthysse, then Williams-Martinez (if its in Atlantic City), then go to MSG for Cotto-Chavez. Thats a helluva month fight there. Thing is none of these fights are officially signed.

They keep throwing out November 20th, suppose to be packaged with Pac-Tony replay

I see nothing special from Judah and Mattysse. Their both overrated.

Maybe, but one will be less so after the fight.

I like that HBO are showing it, that way Judah will get exposure as a newly refreshed Jr Welterweight who can challenge Khan,Bradley and Alexander next year.

Who is Zab's trainer? Is it still his pops?

hitting a big payday or two before the end is probably on his mind, but I would have to think that he genuinely would like to hit some more high notes before he can't box anymore.

Yes. He was in his last fight against Santa Cruz.

and even better... i was at that fight in nj....cintron knocked him into next year

Didn't Zab include another high profile trainer in his camp though, I think it might have been Eddie Mustafa.

Sorry....I should have been more specific. I knew it was Lucas, not his brother Walter, but when I brought it up, none of the prepubescents on ESPN knew what I was talking about.

I was gonna ask you on ESPN why havent you joined over here, but I havent been on over there in a while? theres only a few good posters over there, but their activity has declined. JoeyGonzo and JJ Dillion dont even post very much anymore. I ahvent read a Grant Rant in months, I'll never go to Flomos hideout.
