| Next time at least try a boxer who's under 35 and has had more than four months training. Someone like Kermit Cintron. |

| Toney last real hurrah as a boxer was when he beat Jirov in 2003.
He moved up to HW and looked okay from 2003-2005.
But 2006-early 2009, he looked bad in most of his fights. Rather bad. Balance gone, unable to get weight under control, bad stamina.
He is the last boxer that should have tried MMA. He was getting to the point that it was questionable whether he could have gotten licensed to box.

| Frankie's round, so far the first fight isn't looking like a fluke. |

| 20-18 Frankie
BJ can't deal with Frankie's speed and movement, if he doesn't change his tactics it's going to be another decision for Edgar. |

Frankie's starting to land some good shots upstairs now. |

| BJ looks disinterested.
Hate to say, Frankie is winning this one.

| 40-36 Frankie.
BJ finally takes Frankie down but doesn't do enough to win the round. He also got swept with a kick and tagged on the ground.
BJ needs a knockout or submission to win. |

| Well, it does not change my stance on the first fight but Edgar looked strong. Penn looked like he's declined or he just does not give a fuck anymore.
I have it 4-1 Edgar. | |

I have it 4-1 Edgar. Combination of decline and being unable to deal with Frankie's speed and movement. |

| Well props to Frank Edgar... no doubt about this one. I don't think BJ has declined, its just a bad style matchup for him and his gameplanning really sucks. His corner is telling him things like "go at him", "fuck his speed"... lol. Worthless. | |

| Penn was not highly motivated Rogan. He looked better last time and that is pretty bad.
Edgar was far more agressive than he was in Abu Dhabi and he made his takedowns count by not running back to his feet like last time...plus he landed a fairly high percentage. Good showing by Edgar, he deserves that belt. Maybe a little more disappointed in Penn's performance though. No urgency. No killer instinct. Nothing. Plus he looks to not be in good shape anymore.
I'll be behind Edgar against Maynard but this seems to be setting up my worst nightmare at LW coming true. Maynard becoming LW champ.

| BJ got dominated in that fight. I only has sound in the first 2 rounds and Rogan made it sound like Frankie was whoopin that ass. Rounds 3,4,5 I saw Frankie dominate BJ. BJ should have taken Frankie down non-stop and went for the RNC but he has no corner. BJ needs Greg Jackson if he wants to get his title back and keep it. Good job Frankie. You won't keep the title in your next fight against Gray. | |

+1 BJ's corner was disrespectful of Frankie and didn't have any good advice each round. |

+1 BJ's corner was disrespectful of Frankie and didn't have any good advice each round. BJ should fire them all! They sucked bad. I blame BJ too. He looked like he didn't want it from rd 3-5 to me.

| I just barely gave Round 2 to BJ but i can see how they gave that round to Edgar. I thought he outstruck him and Edgar's takedown in that round was a bit for not...but round 1 set the tone for pretty much the whole fight. It was not dominating in like a "wow, who's gonna beat Edgar?" but Penn gave the judges little to work with to get a pity decision for getting robbed the first time.

| It's going to be tough for Frankie to overcome Maynard. |

Maynard won't stand around like BJ did.

That would be nice. It's gotten to the stage where both men should just focus on interesting fights instead of making a run for a title. |
