Forty Seven years ago today one of the most inspirational speeches in American history was made on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial.

While this is the most famous passage

I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character,

the entire speech is breathtaking in it's rhythms and literary allusions, savage in its intensity, clear of purpose and nearly musical in its delivery. It is worth the fifteen minutes to experience an extraordinary moment in American history.
