Once again HBO tries to manufacture stars. Jacobs is one of the myriad of guys they have adopted over the past 18 months. And of course they shower him with way too much cash.

Jacobs should have gotten about 75,000 and the remainder should have been split amongst the other undercard fighters.

It's a combination of having the right manager, promoter, and nationality.

Remember in early 2009 when HBO started their marketing a list of guys HBO sure can pick em
1-Ortiz-quit in a fight 2-Arreola-fat, lazy, beaten down by Vitali, and lost to Adamek 3-Jacobs-KO'd 4-Diaz-beaten by Paulie twice and Marquez 5-Kirkland-locked up 6-Berto-fighting nobodies 7-Haye-ducking both Klitschkos 8-Dawson-boring fights and now a loss 9-PW-controversial decision over martinez; jumpgate; and alot of ducking
Man they sure can pick em can't they!!!

And before anyone says Diaz beat Paulie in the first fight, recognize that was a gift from hometown judges

I dont think Haye has been on HBO at all
Barrett, Valuev, Ruiz all on PPV
And before that fought on Showtime vs Enzo
But still, HBO needs to stop this practice of trying to manufacture stars

Haye hasn't been on the network at all, HBO included him on that list because at the time he was scheduled to face Wladimir in June and HBO were going to televise.

I know he hasn't fought on HBO but they did include him in their marketing in early 2009. It was around February that they started all that bullshit about the new faces of boxing or the next generation (something like that).

I watched the fight twice and I scored it easily for Paulie both times. But I've been wrong many times before!!!!

The reason the first fight was so controversial was because of Paulie's prediction the day about the choice of officials, then there was Gale Van Hoy's scorecard on the night and of course Paulie's rant in the post fight conference.
