Yeah but look at what is happening now! We've already lost 1/3 of the Super Six with the way it is being done.

I also, for the life of me, don't understand how 30-40 years ago guys like Arguello, Duran, Foster and Ali could routinely fight 4-5 times a year and now with our supposedly "superior" medicine and nutrition and training techniques and gloves guys today can't even fight three times?

How the heck does that work again?

It was, but announced late and shitty promoting lead to it being pushed back, once they got some time to promote the match up did well

I've had it with the activity level of these guys. Only the heavyweight champ, or guys like Oscar or Mayrunner should be fighting 1 -2 times per year.

Guys like Cloud,Williams,Bradley,Khan,Dawson should be fighting 4 times per year. Boxers as recently as 20 years ago seemed to be able to do it....

Why didn't they just dig up two fighters, make an 8 man single elimination tournament and be done with it?

Who's the genius who thought they could sustain interest for two years on one tournament? Dana has some points about Shitime sports I think.

They have a ton of intrest in this tournament. If you notice on this board about every 6 or 7 threads is about fighters in this tournament. Besides Dana cant criticize anyone. He just brought in James Toney to bring in PPV buys. You have a freak show going on this weekend and you are bashing a legit tournament.

I was excited about the thing too, a year ago. The length of it makes it a snoozer. You guys are bonafide boxing nerds and would talk about this ad nausaum either way.

No we took 5 of the most exciting guys in that division and one boring guy and put them in the super six.

single elimination is pointless in boxing and doesn't prove anything conclusively. The tournament was designed to take place over 18 months, which is reasonable. The problem is with today's diva fighters and their sleaze bag representatives throwing tantrums and holding things up.
