| Evans should fight Machida/Jones/Bader/Rogerio...whoever is a top guy before Shogun
Sonnen should fight Vitor before either fights Silva.
Gives the champ a better cushion for more complete recovery and doesn't let guys ride the hospital gown of the injured champ for months and years.

| Doesn't there need to be an interim title match if Shogun has not defended by May 8th, 2011? | |

Gives the champ a better cushion for more complete recovery and doesn't let guys ride the hospital gown of the injured champ for months and years. You won't see the Bones fight, obviously... But I think we "could" see the others. But if Randy walks through Toney, Dana will want to give him one last shot at title implication type face time before he turns 50. That would be my bet...

| No, why would there be. They do interm matches when they don't know what the time table for the champion is. Like when Randy tried to escape his contract and when Brock got sick.
They did one for GSP but that was an exception to the rule made because the fight was so close.

| If it's that long they should.
Tito was out, Chuck and Randy fought for the Interim then Randy beat Tito all within 10 months.
Brock was out, Carwin and Mir fought for the Interim then Brock beat Carwin in less than a 12 month span.
Brock Beat Randy, then Mir beat Nog for the Interim title, then Brock Beat Mir in a time span of less than 9 months.
They are looking at 12 months from UFC 113, that's a long time. It fits the bill for an interim match.

| GDP in the recent examples the interm fight was made before they knew what was going on. | |

| Dana and Silva should have made Evans vs Lil Nog for the interim title as soon as they realized Shogun was going to be out for such a lengthy period. |

| Nobody would want that except for Lil Nog. Rashad has already earned a title shot, I don't see why he should have to beat another top 5 guy to keep it. Interim titles are incredibly stupid unless they have no idea when the guy is going to be back and it looks like a long time | |
