Don King wants Tavoris Cloud back in action this fall

IBF light heavyweight champion Tavoris Cloud (21-0, 18KOs) may return in the fall, says his promoter Don King. Cloud fought on August 7 in St. Louis, winning a close twelve round decision over Glen Johnson. If King is unable to land a televised date on HBO or Showtime, he might put together a show in the fall with several of his fighters, including Cloud.

"This guy is a darkhorse. I would put him in the ring with [Jean] Pascal and [Lucian] Bute in the same night. I can't wait [for a televised date to open up]. This guy is too good. I think I might put him on myself. I want to bring him back by the end of the year. I'm going to start taking this show on the road again, and getting these guys some work because I can't stand around and wait on dates from a television network," King told BoxingScene.com.

I love the idea of keeping guys active and not waiting for HBO or Showtime. Have Cloud fight and work on some things and hopefully make a few new fans wherever Cloud is fighting.

Dawson's ignorant ass is going to continue his career down the same dumb path it has been going: sitting on his ass waiting for HBO. I'd place the odds 50/50 that he sits till a rematch occurs.

You're probably right about Dawson. I think that guy has a "lazy brain."

The Dawson fight is the most logical one for both men at the moment, unless Bute ducks Pascal.

Great that Cloud is supposedly fighting again this year. Not a Cloud fan, but I love that the guy actually comes to fight, and comes into the ring with bad intentions.

Let's stop messing around and get Cloud vs Pascal made for November or December...

Getting frozen out by HBO by GBP and Top Rank's requests. Many people don't like Don King, but his absence in major fights the last decade or so has hurt the sport.
