Looks like Fabregas is on his way to Barcelona for £35 million.

It's about time, Cesc has paid his dues and stay long enough to honor the club, time to let him go back home and use the money to strengthen the defense.

Jurgen is going to be good for US soccer, top to bottom. Watched the game today, he gave some guys starts who haven't had them yet or normally wouldn't and it was good experience for them, made some interesting subs, and Brek Shea had a great game, I see some future there. It helped Marquez was subbed off in the second, whose prob one of the 10 best defenders in the World, but overall nice game, we did get outplayed in the 1st half though. Jurgen should help in junior team levels, in selection I'd expect. ODP, I was a part of, yeah slight brag, and the college game are great for developing and finding players, but I bet Jurgen finds a way to pick the best guys out of it, which is tough really. Hope he does well and stays on past his contract.

The crazy thing is at the moment Fabregas probably struggles to get into the first team.

Fabregas ain't that great. He will either be on the bench or start at CM with Iniesta moving to winger.

Well in the midfield right now there is Ineista, Xavi, Mascherano, Busquets and sometimes Messi.

You could maybe swap Busquets with Fabregas but he's been developing into a very talented young player.

Ali, I'd play him over both, def at right, Mascherano is more defensive, I'd play him over Busquets, but imagine that Mid with Xavi, Iniesta and Cesc? Messi would then play up top all the time.

You can't swap Busquets with Fabregas as Busquets is the teams defensive midfielder and Fabregas is too attack minded.

Mascherano is their best D Midfielder

What formation do they play? 4-4-2 with a center defensive mid fielder?

You could play Iniesta left attacking, Xavi attacking center mid, Mascherano defensive center mid and Cesc right attacking, Pretty nasty.

Barcelona always play 4-3-3 and it doesn't matter who is coaching. Every youth team of theirs plays the same formation so they can be familiar with it when they reach the first team.

I think they have four at the back with a DM covering them, then two in midfield with three attackers ahead, one on each wing with a central guy behind the striker.

Fabregas is an excellent player but he's very similar to Xavi and Iniesta. They might play all 3 or rotate them. The manager favours Busquets over Mascherano because he is a better passer.
