Deadwood was great but they screwed us all with the way it ended. Rome was another awesome show. If it was longer I would have it in my top ten. Same thing with Spartacus. Maybe in a few seasons it will be in my top ten. I just started watching The Wire a few weeks ago and I am almost done with season 3. I like it alot.

There was suppose to be a tv movie to tie up the loose ends in Deadwood but it looks like it won't happen anymore.

Rome was the perfect length for the time period they choose.

Spartacus Blood On The Sand is atrocious, it's a load of CGI gore fest.

group high 5 no one has mentioned any VH 1 or MTV prgramming

I hear ya about Rome. It was awesome, but I can't put a show with only 23 episodes in the top ten is what I meant. Either way that one is up to Ali. I am watching Centurian right now and it is a CGI gorefest. There is one scene where this chick throws a spear thru this dudes mouth. I was like WAAAHH!

Why does it matter how many episodes there was ? it's about quality not quantity.

Some of my picks are old (as am I). But TV is really going through a Golden Age over the last 5 years or so.

In a way it does and in a way it doesn't. Rome had a great ending to go with an awesome story. I watched both seasons within a few weeks so it didn't have time to grow on me I guess. I would have it outside of my top ten though. Kinda wierd cause I just saw Titus last night in The Other Guy. I hadn't ever seen him until I watched Rome.

Rome would've been on my list if it had lasted longer. Shame that they didn't have the budget for it

I don't see how it could have been longer unless they choose a new time period for a different season.

Augustus reign is rather peaceful and popular, the only real major story during his reign was the legion that went missing in the German forest.
