Subject: Humberto Soto to face another nobody in September Fri Aug 06, 2010 11:28 am
Promoter Fernando Beltran of Zanfer Promotions says Humberto “Zorrita” Soto (52-7, 32KOs) will defend his WBC lightweight title against Colombian Fidel Monterrosa Munoz (23-1, 18KOs) on September 25 in Chetumal, Quintana Roo, Mexico. Munoz has one loss, by fifth round TKO to Ali Chebah last July. The fight for Soto is an interim bout before a potential clash with Mexican legend Marco Antonio Barrera, who faces rumored opponent David Diaz on September 15.

I think David Diaz has a great chance at beating Barrera and screwing up the bigger fight. With Marquez almost assuredly leaving the division, Soto should be trying to become the top LW not fighting these guys.

Soto was better suited for Super Featherweight, at Lightweight his power seems to have diminished., and I hear there is talk of him moving to Jr Welterweight.

Yep, best suited at 130-135
Seems like him and Guerrero have deteriorated over time, everyone wanted them to fight and now both wasting away their careers
