| Former unified lightweight champion Nate Campbell has completed a rigorous rehabilitation program to correct a condition known as Piriformis Syndrome. The condition caused pinching of the sciatic nerve, which severely limited Campbell’s movement in recent fights. “It was like I had cement around my waist, I couldn’t turn, I couldn’t plant my feet,” explained Campbell. “I feel better than I have in 5 years, and the increased flexibility that I now have will allow me to do some of the things in camp that I haven’t been able to do for the last couple of years, so I can make 135 again no problem.” Campbell’s rehabilitation program was overseen by Dr. Adam Brunson MD, of Carillon Sports Medicine in St. Petersburg, Florida, and includes stretching routines that the fighter will incorporate into future training camps. “I’m good now, and I just want the opportunity to show everyone that I’m not shot, and I didn’t get old,” said an excited Campbell. ”I have plenty of fight left in me. I really want to go back to 135 now and get my titles back. Any of those cats can get it. Soto, Katsidis, the Guerrero kid that just beat Casa (Casamayor), Diaz, any of them. They can all get it. Based on my last few showings, I know I need to knock off a Guerrero or a Katsidis before I let Marquez’ name come out of my mouth, and that’s ok. I got no problem showing everyone that I’m back. All it takes is for one of these cats to have the stones to fight me. And don’t rule out my eventual return to 140. But for now, I can make 135, I can beat anybody at 135, and that’s where I want to be. http://www.fightnews.com/Boxing/campbell-ready-to-return-55485 |

| Yeah, he has some back issues that may get a little better, but he isn't going to regain the form he displayed in the Juan Diaz fight. That and the Funeka fight were his last hurrahs. He has had serious financial issues in the past, and he is going to fight as long as possible. | |

| Nate's starting to strike me as desperate, he can suddenly now make 135lb even though hours of sitting in a sauna couldn't help him make 135lb for Funeka ? |

| Having had surgery to correct sciatica I am EXTREMELY sympathetic to Nate's condition.
But my guess is it doesn't have much to do with his reflexes etc.

IMO Nate vs Funeka rematch, first one was real fun and it will show us how far or backwards both have come since the first fight
