every 20 years..you cant restrick 3 per division..some divisions may have 9 fighters that qualify and be greater perhaps then the fighters we choze because of 3 per division..

No it isn't. I'm assuming you are using Boxrec which is incomplete (not insulting them, they do a great job). Adam Pollack has done the definitive work on Fitz in his "In the Ring with Bob Fitzsimmons." In that book he gives some background on these guys as well as fights Fitzsimmons had that Boxrec doesn't have. I am looking at the book now. Fitz's early wins were in INVITATION ONLY tournaments held by Jem freakin' Mace. Those guys weren't stiffs. Tom Lees was the Aussie HEAVYWEIGHT champ, Dick Sandall was champion of New Zealand, LHW Mick Dooley's only loss at that point had been to ATG Peter Jackson, Steve O'Donell later became Corbett's favorite sparring partner,Frank Slavin was a heavy viewed in Australia as "a coming man" and I can keep going.

Yup, and if all Fitz had done was beat Corbett, you might have a point

This has come a long way since noon. Ok, my picks would be Benny Leonard, Salvador Sanchez, Lennox Lewis (Yeah, I know. Everyone,ll vote against it. lol), Michael Spinks. That's just for starters and these are just suggestions.

thanks marble..jem mace had a tourney by invitation..great for him i didnt know that....aussie champ champ of new zeland..doesnt tell me much..ingo fought the italian champ franco cavechi or something like that..dick richardson or and joe erskine whatever his name was the british champ..it says nothing..its a writer romancing the pioneer era.thats all it was..fitz to his credit did accomplish 3 legit titles including the new LH one..a worthy hofamer..not a icon or immortal at least not to me..
