Peter went on to win a trinket and beat James Toney. Nothing special.

| Whoever was running Jacob's career needs to be shot. They have done an absolutely shit job at getting him ready for a real fight!!!!!!!!!!!!
I looked at Boxrec.
Jacobs beat Ishe Smith (who really is best at 154 and does enough to lose) just less than a year ago.
So who did they have him fight in the 2 fights after that? a 20-4 guy who was 35 years old!!!! and was basically a 154 pound guy (smaller guy) a 14-4-1 guy who had lost to Joey Gilbert, Ronald Hearns Jr, James Cook, and John Duddy-so a guy who loses every time he steps up at all.
I've never been as high on Jacobs as Rafael and some of the boxing fans have been, but it is a big KO loss tonight, which can be expected if you see the absolutely shitty job his team has done at getting him the proper experience.

| I saw Jacobs on a big undercard and wasn't impressed, he was struggling with this stocky bald journey man. They've rushed him far too quickly, his team allowed themselves to get sucked into the hype. |

| that was a perfect shot. Jacobs does have chin issues. Anything decent landed by Pirog and you could see he didn't like it at all!!!! Ishe Smith(154 pound guy basically) landed a couple of shots (in their fight a year ago) that made me think that Jacobs he doesn't have a very good chin. | |

You got your wish Ring. Yep, Pirog kept just missing the sweet spot with that right hand, I figured if he landed it, it might be lights out. And yes, I got my wish, I didn't like Jacob's hat..

Probably Germany unless HBO takes an interest. Golden Boy has no part of him do they? If so then thats a bad job from them for putting their rising star against a guy they cant even build if he were to pull an upset.

I don't believe Golden Boy even have options on Pirog, it was a purse bid set by the WBO. |

| Jacobs suffers from Jeff Lacy syndrome. He looks better than he is. He looks like he's a puncher, but he's up on his toes too much and doesn't explode forward so he doesn't hold any real power. He's not very fast. He'd vulnerable to get hit. And he hadn't gone up against anyone who had threatened him. You could see him start to back pedal after he got hit hard in the 2nd. Pirog was laughing because he had that Calzaghe moment of "holy shit, this guy can't hurt me".
On to the main course. |

| if I'm Pirog's team no need to throw him agains the best either. He had a good amateur career (from what the announcers said), but tonight was only his 16th fight. He needs to be kept active.
I sure as hell would like to see Pirog fight again. Forgetting the big KO: He comes forward. He is awkward but in a fun way, with the head movement, shoulder roll. He has bravado. Whats not to like!!!!

| Diaz and Marquez coming in the ring, dmar, I hope you're watching this.
I don't think much of Diaz's chances in this fight, I figure Marquez will end it earlier this time, I hope so, it's past my bedtime.

| Jacobs has been highly overrated. he never has faced a decent 160 pound fighter before tonight.
Only decent fighter he has faced was Ishe Smith, who is best at 154, not 160, and is the type of guy who does enough to lose a fight, and will allow you to take the initiative.
As Teddy Atlas would say, "his competition has been soft!!!!"

| I don't like Diaz at all. Sick of hearing everyone act like he's some sort of superhero taking quantum mechanics classes when in reality they are shitty, lame political science courses. Go JMM | |

| now the battle of who has more left!!!! Hopefully it is good.
Is it going to be the physically old fighter who lost badly to Floyd Jr. or the much younger but a little worn guy who Paulie beat twice; and Paulie even wobbled and hurt him in the 2nd fight??????????

| I don't think Diaz is especially bright. There are athletes (educated or not) that are much brighter than him. I'm glad he has gotten an education, but the personal interest stories about him are a bit annoying at this point. | |

| If Diaz is cut, then that is a big problem for him. He was cut vs Campbell and cut in the first fight against marquez. Both times he unraveled after being cut. | |

| Round 1 (10-9) Marquez. I thought he did the better work in there. | |

| 1-0 Marquez. Both guys look sharp though. Hope Diaz doesn't try to box with him the whole fight. Not a smart idea. |
