Top Ten Heavyweights, All Time?

I think people are wondering how long Werdum would survive against Carwin more than who he has fought. With the one exception, he has KTFO of everyone in the first round and I don't think Werdum would be any different nor do I see Carwin falling into an open guard ala Fedor, so that is how he got his ranking.

Why should that factor in? If we do that can you really but any of the old greats on any list? With the evolution of MMA it just doesn't seem fair. Every list would have nothing but current MMA fighters, might as well just do a current ranking and just forget about "all time".

I understand that Sooner, but if you really don't think Werdum is better than Carwin all-time that is going to factor in. I think Werdum is a legit top 10 now, but over the history of the sport? I would choose Carwin as being superior. It is not that I could not be mistaken, it is one of those pesky opinion things.

So you are basing that on what? Potential? If that is the case I might put Jon Jones on the list since I see him as a future UFC HW Champion. Also JDS and Cain would shoot way up with the future wins I see them having.
Point I'm making here is I don't see any other choice but to look what have you accomplished so far TODAY. How many all time top 10 wins do you have? How many ranked fighters did you beat in your career, how many title have you won to date...that kind of thing.

Not potential. He beat up a legit former HW Champion in Mir and was beating the shit out of Brock, who managed to recover and win. Brock is no joke, regardless of his stupid ass antics and Carwin was taking the fight to him. Do you really think Werdum is going to take the fight to Brock? He would have a hell of a time aking the fight to Mir much less Carwin. Then again, that is only opinion. BTW, the Prop was for the statement about Jones. I think you are dead on right there. He is going to be the HW Champion one day.

IMO it doesn't make sense to rank "All-Time" by saying this guy would beat this guy but not that guy and this guy can beat this guy. I have to use fights that have actually happend, accomplishments that the fighter has TODAY.

That makes sense Sooners, but since Werdum did get KO'd by JDS who is not at this time a top 10 all-time HW and as most people believe he lucked out because of Fedor's mistake, then it makes no sense to place him in it. Not that Werdum isn't a very good HW, I just think Carwin would whip his ass and have a chance against all of the guys on the top 10 list.

I was just adding to what Wolfy said in that Werdum is more deserving then Carwin. I haven't taken the time to think about a list but when it comes down to making the list when I consider everyone I will have Werdum over Carwin because of the current wins he holds, that is all I am saying.
